A vaccine is considered to be one of the best options in public health safety, specifically when there is no effective vaccine available against that infectious disease.6 Classic vaccine development often takes years, but developing a vaccine for the prevention of Covid- 19 has turned out to be a race between viruses and humans, and along with the identification of other similar strains has made it more difficult. COVID- 19 has serious and life-threatening complications and no one knows how COVID- 19 is affecting.13 Firstly vaccines are given to health care workers in public and private. The vaccine is first given to one crore healthcare workers around India working in both government and private hospitals according to the recommendation by NEGVAC. It is mandatory to monitor the patient for the next 15 minutes after taking the Covid 19 Vaccine shot. Most of the side effects occur within the next 3 days after vaccination. If someone has a history of allergic reactions which is not related to vaccines or injectable medications, they can still take Covid 19 Vaccine. If someone getting an immediate allergic reaction after getting the first dose of Covid 19 Vaccine, then he/she should not take the second dose of the vaccine. Even though the vaccination strategy throughout the globe is in peak, the people are asked to follow the similar guidelines to prevent the transmission of corona virus. Therefore throughout the world, several ministries of health and family welfare have asked people to maintain social distancing, wearing facemasks in public, using hand sanitizers, washing hands, avoid crowded places and maintain personal hygiene.
Face masks are the new normal and has become an essential part in our day to day lives for preventing the entry of virus to and from others during pandemic situation .The more common physical basis of entry of micro organisms are nose, eyes , mouth. Though eyes are protected using goggles, face masks shields against the contaminating substance. The efficiency of masks are dependent on the amount of contaminant removed by it, contributing to various factors such as the number of particles, mass , weight and so on. It is well know that wearing a surgical masks can help block the droplets from entering or spreading from the environment to the wearers respiratory tract and vice versa. There were high levels of concerned raised anxiety on panic buying of face masks by the public during the initial outbreak of the pandemic , a high shortage among the essential group of people in need of face masks by the health care teams as well as the common people to fight strong against the virus..According to aerosol science, whenever liquid hangs in air it is an aerosol, or a “droplet” to mean a coarse particle five micrometers or larger, and reserve “aerosol” for fine particles smaller than five micrometers in effective diameter. Many organizations are suggesting to make use of cloth masks instead of surgical ones in order to prevent the shortage of surgical masks on the Covid 19 health works and thus reducing the economic load on the same. Hence to have in a solution for the same have led to reusing of masks which are meant to be single use by process of efficient sterilization.
BackgroundDue to Lesotho's high adult HIV prevalence (23%), considerable resources have been allocated to the HIV/AIDS response, while resources for non-communicable diseases have lagged. Since November 2011, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) has supported Lesotho Ministry of Health to roll out Family Health Days (FHDs), an innovative strategy to increase community access to integrated health services, with a focus on hard-to-reach areas where immunization coverage, HIV service uptake, and screening and treatment for chronic diseases are low.MethodsServices were provided at mobile service delivery points from 17th October to 25th November 2011. Delivery points located in rural setting were staffed by multi-disciplinary teams of doctors, nurses, community workers, nutritionists, AIDS officers, and pharmacists (30-40 health professionals present).ResultsDuring this campaign, 8,396 adults were tested for HIV (67.3% female; 32.6% male). In all, 588 (7%) tested HIV-positive (6.7% female; 7.1% male). Among those testing HIV-positive, 68.5% (403) received CD4 testing and 36.6% were enrolled into HIV care at their nearest clinics. A total of 324 ART defaulters were identified and linked back to care. Follow-up with referral facilities showed 100% of patients (defaulters and newly enrolled) linked to care were enrolled at a facility. Standard immunizations were administered to 990 children. 4,454 adults (24.7% male; 75.3% female) were screened for hypertension, and of those screened, 24.2% had elevated blood pressure and were linked to care centers. Addtitionally, 3,045 adults had blood sugar tests (27.0% males; 73.0% females); 3.1% had elevated blood sugar and were linked to care facilities.ConclusionOffering integrated services within hard-to-reach communities can increase access to a variety of critical health services, including those for non-communicable diseases, and can link ART clients lost to follow-up back to facilities. This approach will be scaled up throughout Lesotho as a strategy to reach all populations in the country.
Chronic kidney disease is the most common form of kidney disease and high blood pressure is the most common cause the pressure on the glomeruli increases due to high blood pressure which can prove to be very dangerous. Lack in VITAMIN D isn't restricted to the dynamic chemical, calcitriol (25-hydroxycholecalciferol) is likewise insufficient in many patients with constant kidney sickness (CKD), free of their fundamental renal capacity. Diminishes in calcitriol happen generally right off the bat in the movement of kidney illness and may originate before the increment in PTH. These progressions in calcitriol and PTH add to the upkeep of moderately ordinary serum and calcium fixations until the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) diminishes to <20–25%; nonetheless, the outcome is the potential advancement of bone and vascular sickness. Vitamin K intake and long-term vitamin K status are expressed by a high percentage of undercarboxylated OC (uOC). Vitamin D, which is needed for uOC development, and parathyroid hormone (PTH), which is often elevated in patients with CKD, are also affected by osteocalcin levels. Therefore, elevated serum uOC is present in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) with hyperparathyroidism, but this does not generally mean that they are deficient in vitamin K.
Healthcare workers are the front liners in war against COVID 19 pandemic. Since this fight against the pandemic started, thousands of heath care workers have been infected with many paying the ultimate price with their lives in a bid to provide health care service to COVID 19 patients. Currently many are either in quarantine or in isolation. Still many are working with fear of virus and in under poor conditions without adequate protections. The potential for high exposure is generally higher in health care workers due to increased hospitalization, longer time exposure, failure to implement effective personal health protection, lack of training, monitoring of infection control protection mechanism. This has led to shortage of workforce in the health sector. Exposure to COVID 19 in the health care setting depends on the health care worker’s understanding of the infectious nature of the virus, the routes by which the virus is acquired, the techniques that are most hazardous and the safe working environment and practice. This work is therefore aimed at providing relevant information on the risk of exposure, the impact of virus on the health care workers and the required bio safety measures needed to keep the workers safe in the organization. Broad Academic area of work: Service Quality Excellence in Health care Keywords-: PPE (Personal protective equipments), BMW (Bio medical waste), donning and doffing (process of using and discarding PPEs), HCW (Health care workers), Nosocomial infection (Hospital acquired infection), Covid 19.
