The improvement in structural properties of the ILN-ESF constructs could diminish interfragmentary motion at the fracture site and potentially improve bone healing.
Radius of curvature of the ulnar trochlear notch is a complex function of arc length in Rottweilers and Greyhounds. The waveform has a consistent characteristic appearance in both breeds. Although significant differences were identified between breeds, associations between these differences and cause or pathogenesis of fragmented coronoid process in Rottweilers were not apparent.
HistoryA 10-month-old neutered male Maine Coon cat was examined by the referral veterinarian for abdominal distension, anorexia, and stranguria. Three weeks earlier, the cat had surgery to remove cryptorchid testes. The cat was believed to have a urethral obstruction, and abdominal radiographs were obtained (Fig 1).On physical examination, the cat had signs of depression, was dehydrated, and had signs of pain on abdominal palpation, which revealed a large, firm urinary bladder that seemed to be bilobed and could not be manually expressed. During anesthesia, a 3.5-F tomcat urinary catheter was passed into the urinary bladder via the urethra, and the bladder was emptied. A large, fluid-filled structure attached to the empty urinary bladder was detected on abdominal palpation. Mild azotemia was the only abnormality identified on serum biochemical analyses.Determine whether additional imaging studies or procedures are required, or make your diagnosis from Figure 1-then turn the page * *
