Facile One-Pot Synthesis of Tetrahydroisoquinolines from Amino Acids via Hypochlorite-Mediated Decarboxylation and Pictet-Spengler Condensation. -Oxidative decarboxylation of -amino acids provides the corresponding aldehydes which are converted into tetrahydroquinolines by addition of dopamine via Pictet--Spengler reaction.
