At the selected doses and target levels for TAC and CsA used in this study, trough level adjusted MMF was more efficacious in combination with TAC for prevention of ARE. Furthermore, CsA patients need significantly more MMF to achieve similar MPA levels.

We recommend the epicondylar ratio to calculate the physiological JL rather than JL allocation by a distance.

The evaluated short stem prosthesis showed a migration pattern similar to clinical proven standard straight stem implants. The indication of short-stem prostheses should be critically evaluated in obese and female patients.

Bridging knee arthrodesis with an intramedullary nail is a valuable salvage procedure with acceptable clinical results. As recurring infection remains the most challenging complication, regular clinical and radiological follow-up examinations are necessary following implant-related knee arthrodesis to allow timely intervention in case of loosening.
