A case of large, and multicentric adenomatoid tumors involving the uterus, right ovary and appendix is described. The uterine tumor was exceptionally large, about 15 cm in maximal diameter, and located in the right fundal region of the uterus with a short, thick pedicle as in a subserous pedunculated uterine fibroid.
Background. This study was conducted to assess the utility of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic analyses of chemotherapy with carboplatin (CBDCA) and cyclophosphamide (CPA). Methods. The pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) of chemotherapy with CBDCA and CPA were analyzed in 14 patients (12 with ovarian cancers and 2 with uterine cancers). The PD model based on myelosuppression was assessed in terms of concentrations of free platinum (free-Pt) and total CPA in blood samples. CBDCA (300 mg/m 2 ) was administered intravenously (iv) over 1 h, and CPA (500 mg/m 2 ) over 2 h. Free-Pt and CPA concentrations in blood samples were measured at several time points thereafter. Results. The nadirs of leukocyte and platelet counts were closely correlated with the free-Pt concentration 24 h after infusion (Pt-24), and with the CPA concentration 5 h after infusion (CPA-5). A PD model corresponding to the nadirs of leukocyte and platelet counts was thus generated.Conclusion. This PD model allowed ready prediction, from Pt-24 and CPA-5, of the degree of myelosuppression,
Recently, a need has arisen for an economical untrimmed 14 ‐ 16‐bit D/A converter in the field of digital audio and precision metrological systems. However, the precision of the monolithic D/A converter is about 10 bits to date, which can be improved to 12 ‐ 13 bits by applying a special trim technique. In order to obtain the required high‐precision converter, a self‐correcting equation is established to treat the error involved. The result—a monolithic IC—has been studied experimentally.
For the most part, this paper discusses the circuit structure and the test results of the monolithic 14‐bit, DAC developed on the basis of this self‐correcting equation. The monolithic DAC was prepared by combining the type I2L digital analog process and the two‐layer microwiring technique and exhibited a linearity of ±1/2 LSB (±0.003%) and a setting time of 1.2 μsec.
