Summary
The most frequently consulted alternative therapists for uterine fibroids (leiomyomas) are the
homeopaths; however, there is a paucity of research evidence. Based on a study involving 45
recruited patients with symptomatic uterine fibroids, the authors conclude that individualized
homeopathy can be regarded as effective in this condition; however, randomised controlled trials
are worth investigating.
