This study was conducted to address the taxonomic status of the Korean endemic species Saxifraga octopetala, which is sometimes considered conspecific to Micranthes manchuriensis. Extensive molecular phylogenetic analysis using nrITS sequences as well as morphological examination of type specimens of the two species were undertaken to ascertain the phylogenetic position and species delimitation of S. octopetala. In the resulting nrITS trees, a total of 65 accessions representing S. octopetala grouped together and nested within the Micranthes clade, exhibiting a close relationship with M. nelsoniana and M. manchuriensis. Multiple accessions of M. manchuriensis collected from China and Russia also formed a clade, showing a sister group relationship with M. nelsoniana var. pacifica and M. fusca. The ambiguous species entity of S. octopetala is thought to have originated from Nakai's misinterpretation of Wilford's collection (type specimens of M. manchuriensis), which is a complex collection including an inflorescence of M. nelsoniana. In spite of apparent morphological similarity between S. octopetala and M. manchuriensis, they differ in the presence and absence of underground stolons. The distinct position of S. octopetala within the Micranthes clade on the nrITS tree suggests that it should retain species status in Micranthes. Thus a new combination (Micranthes octopetala) is proposed.
Oxidation of coated and uncoated TZM alloys has been investigated under high temperature plasma flames with varying exposure time. TZM alloy specimens were pack-cemented in a powder mixture of Si, NaF and Al 2 O 3 (25, 5 and 70 mass%) in an Ar atmosphere at 1173 K, resulting in the formation of MoSi 2 and Mo 5 Si 3 layers on the TZM alloy. When the uncoated alloy was exposed to the flame for up to 4 min, the TZM alloy specimen showed a significant weight loss. However, the MoSi 2 -coated TZM alloy specimen did not exhibit a measureable weight loss during the same exposure time due to the presence of the MoSi 2 layer. The effect of coating layers on the oxidation of TZM alloy under the dynamic flame is discussed based on the surface morphology and the microstructural observations, together with the weight changes during the test.
BackgroundTailored therapy has been widely used for patients with Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection in South Korea. Herein, we evaluated the treatment outcomes of tailored clarithromycin-based triple therapy (TT) in patients infected with H. pylori.MethodsWe enrolled 460 patients without A2142G and A2143G point mutations by dual priming oligonucleotide-based polymerase chain reaction who had taken TT and undergone the urease breath test to evaluate eradication in clinical practice. Eradication rates according to the treatment duration and dose of clarithromycin were analyzed.ResultsAmong 460 patients (164 women, median age 63.0 years), 250 patients underwent TT with full-dose clarithromycin (TT-full CLA), and 216 patients underwent TT with half-dose clarithromycin (TT-half CLA). The eradication rates were 88.0% (220/250) in patients with TT-full CLA and 85.2% (179/210) in patients with TT-half CLA. In 250 patients with TT-full CLA, the eradication rates were 86.8% (33/38) in patients with 7-day TT-full CLA and 88.2% (187/212) in patients with 10-day or 14-day TT-full CLA (P = 0.788). In 210 patients with TT-half CLA, the eradication rates were 84.2% (139/165) in those with a 7-day TT-half CLA and 88.9% (40/45) in those with a 10-day or 14-day TT-half CLA (P = 0.436).ConclusionFor patients with H. pylori infection without A2142G and A2143G point mutations by DPO-PCR in clinical practice, treatment extension above 7-day TT with full CLA did not improve the eradication rates. Future studies on the treatment outcomes of TT-half CLA considering effectiveness and compliance are warranted.
-Recently according to the decreasing of steel price and increasing of labor cost the various studies of steel structure and composite structure are proceeding. This study developed the new shape of high depth hybid forming composite beam and performed the bending test to evaluate the bending performance by creating 10 specimens. Bending test result showed that capacity of the beam was increased stably. The ratio of the nominal load to the maximum load( ) is 1.19 and the deformation capacity( ) is 3.9∼4.5. Also, it is possible to apply the existing evaluation equation (
