In this paper, we propose a new interleaving method for solving burst errors that occur in page oriented data storage channels. We compare the performance with other interleaving techniques. Burst errors frequently occur in holographic data storage channels. Many interleaving schemes have been proposed to solve these burst error problems. At 1024 × 1024 pixels, the proposed interleaving scheme provides 1.5–2.0 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) gain compared to other interleaving schemes. Also, at 256 × 256 pixels, the proposed interleaving scheme provides 4.5–5.0 dB more SNR gain compared to other interleavers.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
