In order to investigate optimum and marginal sowing date of foxtail millet, proso millet and sorghum in middle area (Anseong, Gyeonggi province) of korea, four levels of sowing date [(May 15(1st), June 6(2th), June 26(3th), July 13(4th)] with mulching and non-mulching were treated in this experiment. We used three crops of foxtail millet, proso millet and sorghum with four varieties of Samdachal, Samdamae, Kyeongkwan1, Hwanggeumjo in foxtail millet, Leebaekchal, Manhongchal, Hwangsilchal, Hwanggeumgijang in proso millet and Nampungchal, Hwanggeumchal, DS202, Moktaksusu in sorghum achieved from RDA. In culm length, sowing date of June 26 was the highest in all varieties of foxtail millet, proso millet and sorghum. Sowing date of May 15 showed the highest ear length in foxtail and proso millet, whereas the highest ear length was obtained from sowing date of June 26 in sorghum. In numbers of leaf, sowing date of May 15 showed the highest in all three crops of foxtail millet, proso millet and sorghum. Days from sowing to heading date were reduced in Samdamae, Kyeongkwan1 and Samdachal as sowing date was late. In Hwanggeumjo it was reduced from the sowing date from May 15 to June 26, but it was same days was taken between June 26 and July 13 sowing date. Days from sowing to heading date of four varieties in proso millet were reduced as sowing date was late. Days from sowing to heading date in sorghum were reduced as sowing date was late, whereas it was increased the 4 th sowing date of July 13. There were no significant differences in growth and yield characteristics between mulching and non-mulching in four varieties of foxtail millet, proso millet and sorghum with four varieties. The highest grain numbers per panicle, 1000 grain weight and yield per 10a were obtained from sowing date of June 26 in four varieties of foxtail millet, proso millet and sorghum. In sowing date of July 13, all varieties of foxtail millet, proso millet and sorghum were not able to be ripened because of late sowing except Hwnaggeumjo, Manhongchal and Hwanggeumgijang.
This study was carried out to investigate the influence of different planting time on the synthesis of isoflavone in black soybean, Three varieties used in this experiment were lpumgeomjeongkong, Cheongjakong and Heugcheongkong which had different ecotypes, repectively. Seeds were sown at different time, May 15th, May 30th and June 15th with planting density of 60x15cm. In order to analyze the content of isoflavone, we collected sample every 5 days from 30 days after flowering to harvest and analyzed them with UPLC. As sowing was delayed, the content of isoflavone increased in all of three varieties. The content of genistein was greater than daidzein and glycitein. Increase of Glycitein was not distinct from 55 days after flowering(DAF) and it was stable against temperature change during the seed developing period. Although the content of genistein in Ilpumgeomjeongkong from 50 to 55 DAF, in Cheongjakong from 40 to 55 DAF and in Heugcheongkong from 60 to 65 DAF was lower than the content of daidzein, it was higher than that of daidzein afterward. In the statistical analysis on the relationship between average temperature and the content of aglycone isoflavone at 5-day intervals from 30 DAF during the grain filling period, genistein in Ilpumgeomjeongkong showed meaningful correlation as y=-15.28x+407.9 (R 2 =0.505 * ), diadzein in Cheongjakong showed meaningful correlation as y=-6.188x-164.5(R 2 =0.454 * ), and genistein showed significantly high correlation as y=-11.59x+297.6 (R 2 =0.545 ** ). Taking all the above results into consideration, it was suggested that the regions suitable for high content of isoflavone in black soybean be the northern area of Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do, Chungcheongbuk-do and inland area of Gyeongsangbuk-do, where are relatively low average temperature from flowering stage(R 2 ) during the grain filling period. Keywords : planting time, black soybean, isoflavone, maturation et al., 1996), 암세포에 관 여하는 tryosine-specific protein 작용을 저해하여 발암억제 효과가 있고 (Akiyama, et al., 1987), 폐경기전 여성에서는

Average number of ears per hill was 3.3 in the 2nd upland cultivation. The value was greater by 1 ear as compared to 1st upland cultivation (2.2 ears per hill). In average yield per 10a, the 2nd upland cultivation showed 220.3 kg, 23% increased yield compared to the 1st upland cultivation (179 kg per 10a). In average number of ears per hill, the 2nd upland cultivation showed 8.3 ears, increased 4 ears compared to the 1st upland cultivation (4.2 ears per hill). In average yield per 10a, the 2nd upland cultivation showed 152.8 kg, 16.8% increased yield compared to the 1st upland cultivation (130.8 kg per 10a). In average days from seeding to heading of 5 sorghum varieties, there were no significant difference between the 1st (68.6 days) and the 2nd (67.4 days) upland cultivation rotated from paddy field. In the average number of grains per ears, the 2nd upland cultivation showed 2,931.6 grains per ear, 12% increased compared to the 1st upland cultivation (2,619.6 grains per ears). Average yield per 10a of sorghum in the 2nd upland cultivation showed 242.3 kg, 4.6% increased compared to the 1st upland cultivation (231.7 kg per 10a). In growth and yield characteristics of rice in paddy-upland rotation, culm length in paddy-upland-paddy plot showed 82.9 cm, 7.3 cm longer compared to the continuous rice paddy field (75.6 cm). Ear length was also 1 cm longer than that of the continuous rice paddy field. In average number of ears per hill, paddyupland-paddy plot showed 25.0 ears, 4.3 ears more than that of the continuous rice paddy field (20.7 ears per hill). In average yield of rice per 10a, the paddy-upland-paddy rotation plot showed 526.8 kg, 9.8% higher yield compared to the continuous rice paddy field (479.9 kg per 10a).
Agronomic characteristics of 150 adzuki bean (Vigna angularis W.F. Wight) germplasm collected in Korea were investigated in order to establish basic data for the improvement of crop breeding. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of shifts in sowing time on the ecological responses, growth and yields of major soybean cultivars in a southern region of South Korea. Experiments were carried out in Naju, Jeonnam Province (latitude 35° 04'N, longitude 126° 54'E) for three years from 2008 to 2010. The test cultivars included Saeol-kong and Tawon-kong of the summer type, Taekwangkong and Pungsannamul-kong, and Cheongja3 of the autumn type. Sowing took place on May 15 and 30, June 15 and 30, and July 15 of each year. Of the summer type soybean cultivars, Saeol-kong showed a smaller curtailment in days from sowing to flowering, days from flowering to maturity, and days from sowing to maturity according to sowing time postponement than Tawon-kong. Of the autumn type soybean cultivars, Taekwang-kong exhibited a lower photoperiodic response in reproductive growth period than Pungsannamul-kong and Cheongja3, both of which recorded higher level photoperiodic responses in vegetative growth stages and reproductive growth periods than other test cultivars, with the former exhibiting higher levels than the latter. Most of the test cultivars tended to decrease in stem length, node numbers of the main stem, and stem diameter according to postponed sowing time, but there were no significant differences in stem length and node numbers of the main stem of the Saeol-kong cultivar. Differences in sowing times did not affect the first setting pod node order of Saeol-kong and Tawon-kong summer type cultivars of internode lengths of all of the test cultivars. All of the test cultivars tended to show decreases in pod number per plant due to postponement of sowing time except for the Saeol-kong cultivar. The variation was more prominent in small grain cultivars such as Tawon-kong and Pungsannamul-kong with the latter autumn type cultivar showing especially large variation. Yields were the greatest for the Tawon-kong, Taekwang-kong, and Pungsannamul-kong cultivars sown on May 30 and Cheongja3 sown on May 30 and June 15. There were no significant differences in the yields of Saeol-kong for different sowing times from May 30 to July 15, with the yields lowest for the batch sown on May 15.
