Abstract. The paper reviews a relevant problem of providing a higher quality of people's living in the northern regions by the application of the modern technologies within transport in order to improve its environmental performance and efficiency. The aim of the research is to substantiate methods of increasing the adaptability of vehicles to variable low-temperature operating conditions based on a neural control system of preheating and maintaining the optimum temperature of technological fluids by SHF radiation and improving diesel fuel properties by introducing a multifunctional additive. It has been found that SHF radiation influences the physical and chemical parameters of diesel fuel, as well as the engine output parameters. SHF radiation results in a reduction of fuel consumption to 7%, smoke from the exhaust to 15%, and nitrogen oxide emission to 30%. A conclusion is made that using SHF radiation for technological fuel preheating is essential. An approach has been developed that improves low-temperature properties of diesel fuels and increases engine operation efficiency under severe climatic conditions by introducing a multifunctional additive. The additive will enable a significant decrease in fuel consumption under low-temperature operating conditions and a complex improvement of fuel properties.
This article covers a number of issues related to identification of environmental pollution with combustion gas emissions from vehicle engines in urban areas at low ambient air temperatures. Ambient air quality in urban living areas depends on elimination of adverse impact of traffic-related pollution on environmental well-being of citizens. This article gives an overview of dependences of the number of vehicles warmed up at night time and in the morning at ambient air temperatures below zero. Massive emissions subject to ambient air temperature for open air car parking have been determined. It has been established that most of car owners violate the Russian Federation legislation in terms of failure to comply with its bylaw, namely the Traffic Regulations. Based on the results of the conducted study, certain measures have been provided to identify law violators and to strengthen control of compliance with the Traffic Regulations. While discussing the study results a suggestion has been formulated that inevitability of punishment will contribute to raising effectiveness of environmental pollution control in large cities. Cultivation of environmental policy and management system should also be kept in line with up-to-date international needs and requirements and enable effectiveness and efficiency of environmental-related activities in the state.
This article considers the importance of assessing the environmental impact of logistics supply chains in the transition to a circular economy. We propose to use product life cycle analysis as a base assessment, decomposing raw milk supply chains and assessing the environmental im-pact of packages of various process options and supply chain configurations. As a result, we have obtained the checklist for assessing the environmental sustainability of supply chains and developed a three-level scale. An example of applying the developed methodology for evaluating three different enterprises of the Tyumen region is given. Based on the results ob-tained, we can draw conclusions about the possibilities of practical use and the directions of the following studies.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
