Oral and maxillofacial orthopedics is engaged in prosthetics of congenital and acquired defects of the maxillofacial region resulting from resections of the jaws of neoplasms and also as a result of injuries.
In the presence of defects in the maxillofacial region, various methods of treatment are currently used, including removable prosthetics, reconstruction of the defect with a vascularized musculoskeletal autograft, and prosthetics using implants. This direction tends to be further developed and improved, which will contribute to the full integration of the patient into society.
This article presents the procedure for prosthetics of a resection defect of the upper jaw (clinical case) followed by prosthetic rehabilitation.
