The article presents the results of empirical investigation of efficiency of using computer ontologies systems by future engineering teachers in the sphere of computer technologies as a means to form projecting competences. In the process of the research the components of the projecting competencies formation (motivational and target, cognitive and intellectual, professional, effective and reflexive) have been pointed out and investigated. The authors have analyzed quantitative indices of the level of projecting competencies formation by means of computer ontologies systems and have defined the level of each index development and the general level of their formation. We have also statistically processed the results of the empirical investigation of the use of computer ontologies systems as a means to form projecting competences of future engineering teachers.
