The influence of different commercial queen producers on the quality of Apis mellifera queens was assessed. It was aimed to determine the quality characteristics of queens reared by commercial queen producers located in the province of Antalya, which is an important region in queens production due to its climatic characteristics. For this purpose, the quality characteristics of a total of 105 queen bees obtained from 21 enterprises were determined. Differences between the enterprises in terms of the number of spermatozoa (P < 0.01) were determined. In terms of the diameter of spermatheca, spermatheca volume and live weight, statistical differences between the enterprises were also observed (P < 0.05). When the relationships between the measured characteristics were examined, significant values were obtained statistically between live weight and diameter of spermathecae (0.268) and spermatheca volume (0.258). It was also determined that there is a significant correlation between spermatheca diameter and spermatheca volume (0.995). The spermatheca diameter of a good quality queen bee should not be <1.2 mm, spermatheca volume 0.90 mm 3 and live weight not <200 mg. Only live weight was found to be within the normal quality standard values when the average results of the quality criteria are taken into consideration. Other characters such as spermathecae diameter, spermathecae volume and number of spermatozoa in spermathecae seem to be below quality standard values.

Beekeeping, which can be established with little capital and can provide strong economic returns, is one of the important branches of animal husbandry. Beekeeping has an important place in Yozgat's agricultural sector with 411 enterprises. At the end of 2019, there are a total of 29,370 beehives in Yozgat. Honey production has been less than the general of Turkey according to the presence of hive. Achieving more efficient production is possible by identifying the problems in the current production. With this study, it was determined the technical and socio-cultural structures of the existing beekeeping enterprises in Yozgat city center and its districts through a survey study. For this purpose, information about the enterprises was obtained from the Yozgat Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and the Yozgat Beekeepers' Association. A sample of 135 beekeepers was created by examining the data of a total of 411 beekeepers. The survey was conducted with these selected beekeepers. According to the findings, a statistically significant difference was found between beekeeper groups in terms of experience of breeders, ownership of land and honey yield. Therefore, it can be said that the scale of the enterprise has grown in parallel with the increase in the experience of the breeders. Similarly, property land assets increase according to the scale of the enterprise. On the other hand, it is observed that honey yield decreases with the increase in scale in beekeeping enterprises. This means that the efficiency of the enterprises in Yozgat province decreases with the scale growth.
Bu hedefle, Tokat ili ve ilçelerinde [2011][2012] Comparison of Growth Curve Using Some Nonlinear Models in Anatolian Buffaloe Calves SummaryThe aim of the research was to detect the best model to explain the variation of live weight of Anatolian buffaloes using the nonlinear models. For this purpose, in the production period of 2011-2012, live weight records of 640 heads Anatolian buffalo calves including 309 male and 331 female reared in different farm conditions of Tokat were used. To achieve the objective of the study, the non-linear models of Logistic, Richards, Gompertz and Brody function were used. To decide which one is the best model, the coefficient of determination (R 2 ) and the mean square error (MSE) statistics were used. The coefficient of determination (R 2 ) for Logistic, Brody, Gompertz and Richards models were found as 0.96, 0.92, 0.96 and 0.98 for female calves and 0.94, 0.93, 0.95 and 0.97 for male calves, respectively. And mean squared errors (MSE) were found as 682.32, 703.51, 548.66 and 498.63 for females and 637.48, 688.32, 598.12 and 528.74 for male Anatolian buffaloes, respectively. As a result, the best fitted model based on MSE and R 2 criterias was Richards model. Also, the growth and development traits such as sexual maturity age, breeding age, appropriate slaughter age in male and female Anatolian buffalo calves can be estimated using the Richards model. Keywords: Growth curves, Logistic
