In India forensic ontology is considered to be in its nascent stage and limited to part of undergraduate curriculum. Perhaps the branch has been in this stage for long period. In this brief review, we look at the major milestones in inclusion of forensic odontology in dental curriculum as well as its application in law enforcement. We also mention the opportunities were forensic odontology could have played a major role in law enforcement scenario.
