Today, on the one hand, while the traditional design process continues, on the other hand, digital design systems along with advances in computer technologies continue to present designers with new and effective ideas. Parametric design is preferred by designers for its relationality, contributing toward versatility, ensuring flexibility, simplifying diversification, and for presenting programmatic solutions. As is seen in a number of areas, we have also begun to encounter the use of parametric designs produced with parametric design systems and wooden materials in urban landscaping. The purpose of this study is to examine the upper cover application and seating elements generated by taking advantage of parametric designs from wooden construction materials in urban landscaping areas, and examine the impact of wooden material characteristics while generating behavior and parametric structures of technologies. After researching parametric design and wooden material concepts, an attempt was made to reach conclusions through analyses conducted by examining parametric wooden designed pavilion and seating element specimens applied in various regions of the world.
Stone is the longest lasting building material used throughout the ages. However, it is seen that the stone material also deteriorated over time. In this study, first of all, the structural features that affect the use of the stone are mentioned. How the stone is formed determines its technical properties. These technical features form the necessary parameters to decide where and under which conditions the stone will be used. When this process cannot be determined, the decay of the stone can ocur more easily. In the study, after the determination of the technical properties of the stone, the types of degradation that cause the destruction of the stone are mentioned. In the examination of stone weathering types, the subject is discussed under two main headings as internal structure of the stone and external factors. In this context, the decay caused by the internal structure of the stone has been discussed with its mineralogical properties, Grain and crystal structure, chemical and physical properties due to the stone formation. As the second cause of decay, external factors are also considered as physical, physico-chemical effects and mechanical effects, as well as effects related to humans, plants and animals, were transferred by sampling.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
