Crumpled zinc manganate nanosheets (ZnMn2O4 NSs) have been synthesized by electrospinning and used as anode material for high‐performance lithium‐ion batteries. The crumpled ZnMn2O4 NSs exhibit a reversible capacity of 461 mAh g−1 at 100 mA g−1 even after 500 cycles, excellent rate capability, and long cycling stability (almost no capacity degradation after the 20th cycle). The excellent electrochemical performance may be mainly attributed to the novel crumpled nanostructure of the ZnMn2O4, which provides reduced diffusion length for the transport of Li+ ions as well as mechanical buffer space to accommodate the volume variation during Li+ insertion/extraction. The formation mechanism of electrospun crumpled ZnMn2O4 NSs is further discussed in detail.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
