Background: Several studies illustrated that IL-23/Th17 axis could be an important pro-inflammatory pathway in atherosclerosis. As a key element in this inflammatory mechanism, interleukin-23 receptor (IL-23R) may play a critical role in the pathological process of atherosclerosis. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in IL-23R have recently been consistently found to be associated with atherosclerosis diseases. However, its association with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is still indistinct. Here, we discussed whether genetic polymorphisms in IL-23R (rs11209026 G/A) were associated with susceptibility to ACS. Methods: Among 160 patients with ACS, it includes 80 patients with unstable angina pectoris (UAP), 80 patients with myocardial infarction (MI), and 80 control subjects were selected randomly. The polymorphisms of IL-23R (rs11209026 G/A) were analyzed by the Sanger method. Results: Data showed that percentages of rs11209026 AG genotypes were significantly lower in ACS group (including: UAP and MI) than in controls (odds ratio [OR] = 0.324, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.148-0.712, p = 0.005; OR = 0.351, 95% CI: 0.135-0.910, p = 0.031; OR = 0.303, 95% CI: 0.112-0.817, p = 0.018, respectively). Furthermore, there was no correlation between rs11209026 G/A SNP and dyslipidemia-associated ACS. Conclusions: The variant of the rs11209026 polymorphism in IL-23R gene might decrease the risk of ACS, and these data suggest that AG genotype of the rs11209026 G/A polymorphism may act as a protective factor for acute coronary syndrome and subtype of ACS.
Aim: To investigate the efficacy of two corpus luteum support programs in patients with frozen embryo transfer (FET). Methods: A retrospective analysis of the complete clinical data of 340 patients undergoing in vitro fertilization embryo transfer in the Department of Reproductive Medicine, Jingzhou Central Hospital from September 2016 to July 2018. These patients were divided into group A and B according to the luteal support program. We compared the clinical outcomes of the two corpus luteum preparations by comparing the laboratory parameters of the two groups of patients with clinical pregnancy indicators. Results: We found there was no significant difference in the results of general conditions in the two groups of patients, such as infertility age and duration, body mass index (BMI), basal follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), basal luteinizing hormone (LH), basal estrogen (E2) levels, the endometrial thickness, the number of transplanted high-quality embryos on the day of transplantation and so on (P > 0.05). We found that the implantation rate (32.55%), biochemical pregnancy rate (53.57%), and clinical pregnancy rate (51.78%) in group B were significantly higher than those in group A (25.26%, 35.11%, and 34.66%, respectively) (P < 0.05). We also found there is no significant difference in spontaneous abortion rate (15.30% vs 15.87%) and multiple pregnancy rate (13.61% vs 14.28%) between patients in group A and group B (P > 0.05). Conclusion: We conclude that patients who are scheduled for frozen embryo transfer use progesterone vaginal sustained release capsules combined with luteal progesterone luteal support, have improved clinical pregnancy rates.
Aim: To study common cause of digestive tract hemorrhage and the relationship between etiology and age. Methods: Retrospective analysis about the data of 419 cases of digestive tract hemorrhage in digestive internal medicine from January 2016 to January 2018 in Jingzhou Central Hospital. Results: 419 cases of digestive tract hemorrhage include 305 cases of hemorrhage in upper digestive tract and 114 cases of hemorrhage in lower digestive tract. The first 5 causes of upper digestive tract hemorrhage in middle-aged and young group were: duodenal bulb ulcer, gastric ulcer, esophageal and stomach bottom varices bleeding in cirrhosis of schistosomiasis, compound ulcer, esophageal and stomach bottom varices bleeding in hepatitis B cirrhosis. The first 5 causes of upper digestive tract hemorrhage in elderly group were: gastric ulcer, duodenal bulb ulcer, esophageal and stomach bottom varices bleeding in hepatitis B cirrhosis, esophageal and stomach bottom varices bleeding in cirrhosis of schistosomiasis, gastric cancer. The first 5 causes of lower digestive tract hemorrhage in middle-aged and young group were: ulcerative colitis, colorectal polyps, hemorrhoids, crohn's disease, ischemic bowel disease. The first 5 causes of lower digestive tract hemorrhage in elderly group were: colorectal polyps, colon cancer, ulcerative colitis, ischemic bowel disease, hemorrhoids. Conclusion: In the cases of upper digestive tract hemorrhage, peptic ulcer should be paid attention to in middle-aged and young people, and elderly should be noted in gastric cancer. Ulcerative colitis should be paid attention to in middle-aged and young people with lower digestive tract hemorrhage, and elderly should be noted in colorectal polyps and colon cancer.
Aim: To study the characteristics of EMR (endoscopic mucosal resection) or ESD (endoscopic submucosal dissection) postoperative pathological examination of colonic polyps in different age groups, and the difference of pathological examination after EMR or ESD operation. Methods: A retrospective analysis was made of the EMR or ESD postoperative pathological data of 100 cases of colonic polyps patients in the Jingzhou Central Hospital digestive internal medicine. The time is from March 2016 to March 2018. Results: In 100 cases of EMR or ESD operation, there are 65 cases of young and middle-aged group. Pathological examination results include: 34 cases of adenomatous polyp, 18 cases of inflammatory polyp, 11 cases of benign tumors, 1 case of malignant tumor, 1 case of hyperplastic polyp. There are 35 cases of elderly group. Pathological examination results include: 27 cases of adenomatous polyp, 2 cases of inflammatory polyp, 2 cases of benign tumors, 4 cases of malignant tumor. 71 cases of complete EMR operation include: 51 cases of adenomatous polyp, 17 cases of inflammatory polyp, 3 cases of benign tumors; 29 cases of complete ESD operation include: 10 cases of adenomatous polyp, 3 cases of inflammatory polyp, 10 cases of benign tumors, 5 cases of malignant tumor, 1 case of hyperplastic polyp. Conclusion: For the pathological examination results after EMR or ESD operation, the proportion of inflammatory polyps in the young and middle-aged group was greater than that in the elderly group. The proportion of adenomatous polyps in the elderly group was larger than that in the young and middle-aged group. The proportion of adenomatous polyps in EMR was greater than that of ESD. The proportion of benign tumors and malignant tumors in ESD was greater than that of EMR. The difference has statistical significance.
