This paper introduces a printed monopole antenna which works in both lower and upper ultra wide-band(UWB) regions. Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is a rapidly advancing technology that has a variety of applications in health care and personal entertainment. IEEE Standard 802.15.6 allows us to use UWB as a promising candidate for WBAN. In this paper, mushroom-like electromagnetic band gap (EBG) stucture is used for the band notched design, and it rejects unwanted band ranging from 4.74-6.22 GHz. Antenna shows sufficient impedance bandwidth and nearly omnidirectional radiation characteristics. Specific Absorption Ratio(SAR) is also studied to know the biological effects of the antenna.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
