An ophthalmic suspension containing povidone-iodine 0.4% and dexamethasone 0.1% may be a useful agent in the treatment of acute RPS Adeno Detector-positive conjunctivitis. A further placebo-controlled study with a larger number of patients is warranted.
People develop their sense of self and their interpersonal skills in their families of origin. Omitting any focus on the family of origin in training removes a tremendously useful learning resource. The dilemma for the teacher is to find the boundary between teaching and therapy. The author describes her approach and suggests how it can be kept within a teaching framework, be case related and unintrusive.
The minimal inhibitory and bactericidal concentrations were determined at 30 and 370C for several antibiotics affecting cell wall biosynthesis. The test organism, Streptococcus faecalis ATCC 9790, possesses a single autolytic enzyme and does not produce penicillinase. Penicillin, methicillin, and, possibly, bacitracin appeared more effective at 37 than at 300C. Vancomycin, ristocetin, and phosphonomycin appeared equally effective at both temperatures, and cycloserine appeared consistently more active at 30 than at 37°C.
