An efficient procedure for the synthesis of 2,4,6-triarylpyridines (Kröhnke pyridines) by the one-pot multicomponent condensation of aldehydes (1 equiv) with acetophenones (2 equiv) and ammonium acetate (1.2 equiv) in the presence of catalytic amounts of oxozirconium(IV) chloride (ZrOCl 2 ) under solvent-free conditions is described. In this work, four products have been reported for the first time. Easy work-up, simple methodology, clean reaction and reusability of the catalyst are some advantages of this work.
A simple, highly efficient and green procedure for the condensation of aryl and alkyl 1,2-diamines with α-diketones in the presence of catalytic amount of phenol(20 mol%) at room temperature is described. Using this method, quinoxaline derivatives as biologically interesting compounds are produced in high to excellent yields and short reaction times.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
