The Yangtze River, with more than 400 fish species, is one of the biodiversity hotspots in the world (He et al., 2011;Liu & Gao, 2012).The Yichang reach is the geographic boundary between the upper and middle Yangtze River (Li et al., 2016). The Gezhouba Dam (GD) and the Three Gorges Dam (TGD), the largest hydropower project in the world, have been constructed in the Yichang reach, which cuts off the connectivity between the upper and middle Yangtze (Gao et al., 2010;Zhang et al., 2020). The impoundment of the Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) significantly changes the water temperature and hydrological regime downstream, which dramatically impacted the reproduction and species composition of the fishes in the
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
