SUMMARYMicroporous Ap04-5 catalysts exhibit catalytic activity for mtium isotope exchange and other reactions but the activity of the catalyst may vary widely from one batch of catalyst to another although all catalyst samples appear to show pure AlP04-5 phase. This catalytic activity appears to correlate with the presence of octahedral aluminium in the catalyst samples as revealed by solid sate 27Al N M R spectroscopy and this is attributed to defect sites in the lattice. The exchange patterns may show high regional specificity. These patterns have some of the features of acid catalysis but are assumed to be modified by the constraints imposed by the micropore geometry.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
