Dikirim: 24 Oktober 2018 Raja Ampat is one of the regencies located in the West Papua Province that has potential coastal and marine island biodiversity as an prospective asset for tourism development. Since the region was declared by the Government as one of the marine tourism destinations, both foreign and domestic tourists started visiting Raja Ampat. Identifying the determinants of length of stay and investigating how far the participation of local community in the development process of marine tourism sector is very essential in sustainable marine tourism in the future. Due to its function to forecast the length of stay and to analyse the carrying capacity of nature-based tourist destination. The objectives of this research is to examine which factors that influence the length of stay of tourist at the locals homestay. The research location was determined by purposive sampling method while the respondents was determined by accidental sampling method. There were 97 respondents that participated in this research which are consisted of 63 foreign tourists and 34 domestic tourists. Multiple regression analysis with Ordinary Least Square method is used as a data analysing technique. The results showed that the average length of stay of foreign tourists is longer than domestic tourist that is 5 days for international tourist and 3 days for local tourist. Based on the regression analysis, it indicates that tourists age, level of income, and accommodation cost are significantly influenced the length of stay of tourists at the locals homestay.
Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Sector in West Papua Province contributes significantly to the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). While on the employment side, this sector also able to absorb a third of the workforce in this province. It indicates the important role of this sector in the economy of West Papua Province. The purpose of this paper is to determine the magnitude of the forward and backward linkage of agricultural industry in West Papua Province. The combination of forward and backward linkage will produce a key industry. The Inter-Regional Input Output (IRIO) model and 2016 IRIO data was used in this study. The findings show that Food Crops Agriculture; Annual Horticultural Crops, Annual Horticulture, others; and Livestock is included in the undeveloped category. Meanwhile, Seasonal and Annual Plantations, Forestry and Logging Industries, and Fisheries are in growing industries category. Gross value-added multiplier of all agricultural industries is below one where the highest value is in the Forestry and Logging Industry whereas Livestock Industry is the lowest.
This research aim to determine the influence of the independent variabel (age, income, travel cost, distance and duration of visit) on the dependent variabel (number of visit) to the tourist attraction of Mansinam island and the economic potential value of the island of Mansinam. This research is a quantitative descriptive study with data sources including primary and secondary data. The population of this research are the visitor of Mansinam island. The number of samples was determined by accidental sampling method and using the lemeshow formula the result were 96 people. The data analysis technique in this research is multiple linear regression analysis. The result of this research indicate that the variables age and distance have a significant influence while the other variables income, travel costs and duration of visit do not have a significant influence. From the calculation it is known that the economic potential value of the island of Mansinam is Rp.493.028.470 per year with the consumer surplus value is Rp. 1.281.097,6 per individual per year.
This study aims to identify and analyze forward linkages and backward linkages, calculate the dispersion coefficient and dispersion sensitivity and calculate the multiplier effect of output, income and employment in the manufacturing sector against other economic sectors in West Papua Province. This research was conducted in Manokwari District, West Papua Province. This research is a descriptive research with a quantitative research paradigm. Based on the results of the analysis of forward and backward linkages that the manufacturing sector has a strong ability to increase the output growth of all economic sectors of West Papua Province because it has a forward linkage value of 1.867 and a backward linkage of 1.683 which is greater than 1 and has a value above the average of all sectors. The dispersion sensitivity value is 1.314014 and the dispersion coefficient is 1.184729 which is greater than one so that it can be used as a leading sector to increase rapid economic growth. Furthermore, the manufacturing industry sector has an output multiplier value of 1.68287 greater than one, meaning that the manufacturing industry sector has a strong ability to create additional output for the economic sectors of West Papua Province. While the income multiplier value is 0.24554 and the labor multiplier is 0.00219 which has a value of less than one.
