____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Kata kunci: ikan mas, koi herpesvirus, pakan, vaksin DNA ABSTRACTThis study aims to examine the frequency of koi herpesvirus (KHV) DNA vaccine administration which obtained high survival rate on koi herpesvirus-infected carp. In this study, vaccination was performed by feeding fish with artificial diet containing anti-KHV DNA vaccine. Frequency of vaccine administration tested were vaccination once a week (K1), vaccination twice a week (K2), vaccination three times a week (K3), positive control: the fish were not vaccinated but challenged with KHV (K4), and negative control: fish were injected with phosphate bufferred saline solution (K5). Feeding was performed twice a day at satiation. The mortalily rate on K1, K2, K3, and K4 were 33.33±5.77, 20.00±10.00, 6.67± 5.77, dan 43.33± 5.77 %, respectively. While the survival rate on K1, K2, and K3 were 23.07±13.32, 53.84±23.07, 84.60±13.32 %, respectively. The results showed that vaccination three times a week offered the highest survival rate (84.6 %) and showed higher phagocytic activity compared to the other treatments. Hence, oral vaccination via the feed can effectively increase the survival rate of fish, and this can be as an alternative method to control KHV infection in carp. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
