To return the ecological function of Wan Abdul Rachman Forest Park, it must be involved the role of buffer zone communities living around the forest by optimizing the cultivated land with applying agro-forestry based on socioeconomic conditions in the community, such as community preferences and adoption of agro-forestry patterns. Under these conditions it is necessary to hold a study concerning to the level of community preference to the type of plants and the level of adoption, as well as the NPV analysis of the 3 patterns of agro-forestry which are applied by the majority of community around the forest park. Results of the study revealed that there were 3 dominant plant types preferred by the community in the forest park, namely: coffee (30.8%), cacao (35.8%), and rubber (17.4%). Based on these crops, there were 3 agro-forestry patterns practiced by the majority of community in their cultivated land. They were: (1) coffee-cacao-wooden plants, and fruits (47%), (2) rubber-coffee-wooden plants, and fruit (35%), and (3) rubber-cacao-wooden plants, and fruit (18%). The highest personal and social NPVs obtained in the agro-forestry pattern of rubber-coffee-wooded plants, and fruits were IDR4.589.627.36 and IDR6.454.806.01, respectively. To ensure the sustainability of the program, the development of communities living around the forest together with a program of community empowerment in the block of utilization and social forestry in the forest park are recommended to continue, based on the Regional Regulation (PerDa) Number. 3/2012.
Mangrove litter leaf represent the organic substance supplier towards fertility of mangrove ecosystem, that able to support the mortal life within. The area of forest of mangrove represent the nursery ground, feeding ground, and area of spawning ground for various fish type, prawn and other biota sea and also as producer of amount of detritus for plankton as main foods source of the sea. The objectives of this research were to know production and decomposition rate of mangrove litter leaf in the mangrove ecosystem of Durian Village and Batu Menyan Village, Padang Cermin subdistrict, Pesawaran regency. Data was analysed by calculating the dry weight mean of litter leaf production and to counting decomposition rate was using the exponential rank function or from absolute decomposition percentage of litter leaf per day. This research was conducted in two place (station) based on the difference of substrate characteristic. The research conducted from October to December 2013. The productivity of mangrove’s litter leaf in both places is 0,56 g/m2/day, where the leaf organ gave the higgest contribution, (66%), stick and branch (14%), flower and fruit (20%). Decomposition rate of mangrove litter leaf showed that at the second station ( 0,20 g / hr) was faster than the first station ( 0,19 g / hr). One of the important functions of the forest is as a provider of water through infiltration processes in the hydrological cycle. Green open space at Lampung University has a variety of tree stands, including Sengon Buto, Teak stands and mixed stands. The stand has the potential to increase infiltration and reduce run-off. The study aims to determine the rate of infiltration that occurs under a variety of stands by using Double Ring infiltrometer, and conducted during February - March 2015.The results showed a mix of stands have the highest infiltration rate of 56.60 cm/hour when compared with Sengon Buto, stands of teak, and free standing, each of which has a value of 51.60 cm/hour, 45.60 cm/hour, and 4.80 cm/hour. Based on the classification according Kohnke (1968), the infiltration rate contained under each of these stands belong to the classification very quickly, while on land classified as being free standing. Factors that affect the rate of infiltration directly that the initial soil water content, bulk density, soil porosity, and clay fractions. Tree density, density and canopy strata, as well as ground cover plants indirectly affects infiltration is to establish the physical properties of soil that can support increased infiltration.
The Sekampung Hulu and Sangharus rivers were selected as target sites to study improved use and conservation of dam reservoir water because the region is an important source of fresh water, irrigation water for downstream agriculture and production of hydropower. The two rivers exhibited differences in average water quality. Most water quality parameters exhibited clear differences between the two rivers at each sampling event, with the relative differences not changing during the sampling period. Analysis of water quality based on land use percentage indicated that upland fields had a major impact on most water quality parameters. In addition, forest and plantation conditions had a major impact on the suspended solids concentrations. The results of the present study suggest that current management of these land use categories may not be adequate to prevent or even decrease erosion.
The growth of tourism is affected by the level of satisfication from the visitors towords the existence of tourism facilities. The aim of this research is to know the visitors perspective towards the tourism facilities at Elephant Training Center of Way Kambas National Park. The data taking can be done by doing interviews, observation and literatures. The collected data will be analyzed descriptively based on physics, cleaniness and comfort condition. The result of research shows that the visitors perception towards the tourism facilities is enough. This is not apart from the condition of facilities that are less well meintained and even damaged, such as toilets, bins, attractions arena and playground; although the qality and quntity is sufficient for the needs of tourist. The national park party needs to add the amount and improve the facilities so it can support the management of the area and improve the amoun of visitors.
