In today's modern business environment, e-business is gaining stronger role and application. External and internal electronic communication become everyday unavoidable part of business processes in many organizations, regardless of their activity and size. This study is an attempt to examine the efficiency of e-business application in public companies in Serbia. Basis of the research were the employees in public companies in Serbia, in the region of Srem. The purpose of the paper consisted of the identification of familiarity with significance of e-business, as well as the level of efficient application of Internet technology in present conditions of Serbian public enterprises' functioning. Research and analysis of the results obtained have indicated that besides solid familiarity of employees with the significance of e-business, the current functioning of electronic communication does not provide full support to the operation of public enterprises in Serbia. The facts that Serbia is a country in transition and that market liberalization largely reflects itself on public services' operation, point out to the significance of subject research. Scientific information obtained by research on the title subject could be purposeful to the management of public services in Serbia, as well as other countries in transition.
Public service reform is a global phenomenon. Increased requirements and pressures made by the users imply finding the adequate form of modernization. Public service transformation aims at providing services in a more effective and efficient way, with enabling a better service providing. In such an environment, manager’s role is crucial for the success of public service transformation. The intention of this paper consisted in determining the nature of relations between the way in which the managers are chosen and efficiency of Serbian public services functioning. The presented case study has served us as an illustration of the extent to which existing practice of selecting the managers in public services of Serbia influences the successful reform and functioning of those organizations. Basis of the research sample consisted of th employees in public services in the territory of Srem, one of the regions in Serbia. Basic assumption would be that there is a significant correlation between the existing practice of selecting the managers and successful management within public services and that was proved by this study. Research and analysis of the results obtained have indicated that the current way of selecting managers in public services of Serbia is largely a significant barrier towards the creation of efficient management, capable of creating a better service for the users.
New business approach in modern market environment imposes a fact that there is no existence without the creation of organizational structure and culture, which support the generation of innovation processes and development of knowledge management. These processes become a precondition for success or even the survival of an organization. In order for the mentioned concepts to be successfully implemented in organizational structure of an organization, the necessary precondition represents an adequate level of trust and cooperation between the employees within an organization. The purpose of the paper is the analysis of organizational design and identification of the level of employees trust and cooperation within the company ˝Telecom Serbia˝. The facts that Serbia is a country in transition, that telecommunication market in Serbia was recently liberalized with the entrance of new operators, and at the same time, the long monopolistic status of the company ˝Telecom Serbia˝, indicate the significance of subject’s research and the interest of the topic. Research results have shown that present level of trust and cooperation among employees is not very high. Also, the research has pointed out some weak spots of the organizational design, which are at the same time inhibition factors in the knowledge sharing, trust and cooperation. Scientific information obtained by investigating the title topic, could be useful to the management of domestic telecommunication companies, as well as other service companies.
