RESUMOObjetivou compreender os impactos psicossociais da hemodiálise na vivência de mulheres em idade fértil. É um estudo transversal descritivo com abordagem qualitativa e exploratória. Foram feitas entrevistas semiestruturadas com oito mulheres em idade fértil em tratamento de hemodiálise por um período mínimo de 24 meses em um hospital escola. As entrevistas foram analisadas na perspectiva da Teoria Fundamentada nos Dados. As categorias que emergiram da codificação dos discursos foram: enfrentamento e suporte social; mudanças na vida cotidiana; autoimagem e sexualidade; perspectivas futuras. Evidenciou-se que as principais estratégias de enfrentamento se referem ao suporte familiar e religioso. Dentre as mudanças cotidianas, destacaram-se a indisposição para as tarefas diárias, o comprometimento profissional e o prejuízo da participação na vida dos filhos. A forma como vivenciam sua sexualidade e autoimagem impacta diretamente em seu meio familiar e conjugal. As perspectivas de futuro das mulheres se vinculam principalmente à esperança de um transplante renal. This is a descriptive cross-sectional study with qualitative and exploratory approach. Were made eight semi-structured interviews with childbearing age women undergoing dialysis treatment for a minimum of 24 months in a teaching hospital. The interviews were analyzed from the perspective of Grounded Theory. The categories that emerged from the coding of the speeches were coping and social support; changes in everyday life; self-image and sexuality; future perspectives. It became clear that the main coping strategies are found in the family and religious support. Among the everyday changes, the highlights were the unwillingness for everyday tasks, professional commitment and less participation in the children lives. The way they experience their sexuality and self-image has a direct impact on your family and conjugal environment. Finally, the future prospects are linked to the hope of a kidney transplant.
