The purpose of this paper is to investigate the aspects that influence the interior and architecture that meet green design standards. Activities that supports environmentally friendly actions (Green Design will be assessed both in terms of function, space and material selection program or other efforts. The other thing is to analyze whether there are other efforts such as the using of sustainable materials or the using some types of plants to help revitalize the fresh air in the room. This journal is made based on the literature data and the results of interviews with Green Building Association. Green Design in the Planning office interiors is an effort that should be done together. If this effort is done collectively, the expected negative impact of global warming can be reduced.
Indonesia is a nation consisting of various ethnicities, races, and cultures. It is because the location of the Indonesian archipelago was in the traffic trade in the early days of the 5th century AD. Chinese ethnic is one ethnicity that already has had a relationship with the Southeast Asian region. In the 19th century shop houses were spread in the coastal areas and concentrated only in the Chinatown. Research used qualitative method with a historical approach. Data were obtained from a variety of literature, both journal articles, books, and the Internet. The results show that in the beginning the shop houses were built by the colonial government to implement a plot system such in the Europe. However, by the influence of the Chinese descendants, limited land with a high population density makes the system become a clever problem solving. Acculturation is a process that refers to the cultural and psychological changes due to encounters with culturally different people. This process allows culture and ethnic groups adapt to another culture. Research concludes that shop house can be seen as a result of Chinese descendants and Dutch acculturation existing in the coastal cities of Indonesia.
The long-term goal of this research was to make variety ornament documentation on architecture and the interior of Indonesian historical buildings, especially for buildings having the combination between western and eastern. The original plan of this research was to achieve some cultural preservation efforts, they were (1) to find various styles of design art, including the variety of native straits-born Chinese ornaments, Art Deco, and Neoclassical, or found that there are any acculturations among the ornaments in an interior. (2) To understand characteristics of each style and applied it appropriately in the interior space. (3) To find on how the building functioned and how to preserve as cultural heritage. The method began with a survey, interviews, and observations by documenting the application of Indonesia art and culture for cultural conservation, especially on interior design. The case study was straits-born Chinese buildings in Lasem, Central Java. The observation and research concerned with design styles applied in architecture, interior, and home decoration. The observation and research were followed by summarizing and analyzing the material obtained from field surveys result by comparing two samples of Chinese houses in Lasem that also supported with literature research. Researchers find several differences of art styles which had been applied. The styles are original Chinese decorations, Art Deco, and Neoclassical decorations.
Indonesia has lots of colonial heritage buildings, scattered in several cities. One of the old buildings is in Lasem city, not only functioning as residential, but also as a batik business place. Problem statement of this research is how colonial old residential building has sustainable system? The objective of this research are to know what kind of sustainable system applied in old colonial building, and to know how Lasem old building analysed by Vitruvius theory. This research is using qualitative method, using one Lasem colonial residential as a study case. The house as will be analysed whether it meets the requirements as sustainable building, or it also meets the criteria of a good building according to Vitruvius theory by meeting the firmity, utility and venustas. The result of this study, this building is both a sustainable building and also meets what is contained in Vitruvius theory.
Abstract This study aims to analyze a museum interior design to be able to find the latest output regarding displaying or circulation techniques in a public space, especially museum. This study background is a public phenomenon visited by museums nowadays, which is seen on their social media accounts. Especially for contemporary and art design museums, it becomes an attractive icon for young people, as well as seniors. However, there are many things that need to be considered in designing a museum interior where many factors support for a success interior design, including: display techniques, gallery categorization, signage systems, and lighting. This study will examine how to applied the above items. As a comparison, contemporary art museums in Jakarta and New York. By doing these comparisons, researcher expected there will be a resume on how designing a good contemporary art museum. With good and attractive interior design in a contemporary art museum, it will further increased visitors interest and the awareness of the community to explore the museum. The method used is by observing and documenting techniques and analyzing the interior of research objects, combined with literature studies, hopefully this research can contribute to the museum design technique as an ergonomic and interactive public space for the wider community. For future development of the museum, this research contributes for a better, good and friendly display techniques. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa perancangan interior sebuah museum untuk dapat ditemukan luaran terbaru perihal teknik display maupun sirkulasi dalam sebuah ruang publik yakni museum. Latar belakang penelitian adalah fenomena masyarakat luas yang terlihat kesadaran untuk berkunjung ke museum, yang terlihat pada akun sosial media masyarakat jaman sekarang yang demikian semarak, khususnya untuk museum bernafaskan contemporary dan art design, menjadi satu ikon menarik bagi kalangan muda, juga para senior. Namun demikian banyak hal yang perlu diperhatikan pada perancangan sebuah interior museum dimana banyak factor yang mendukung kesuksesan sebuah desain museum, antara lain dalam hal teknik display, pengkategorian gallery, system signage, maupun pencahayaan. Dengan design interior yang baik dan menarik pada sebuah museum kontemporer, diharapkan akan semakin menaikkan minat para pengunjung dan kesadaran masyarakat akan semakin meningkat untuk mengeksplorasi isi dari museum tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan teknik pengamatan dan pendokumnetasian serta analisa interior objek penelitian, dipadukan dengan studi literature, diharapkan penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi pada teknik perancangan museum sebagai sebuah ruang public yang ergonomis dan interaktif menyenangkan bagi masyarakat luas.
