Fakfak nutmeg is also known as Papua Nutmeg, and has become one of the main income sources of local communities in Fakfak and Kaimana Districts. It produces butter nutmeg, a fat derived from the seed used in perfumery and soaps. It grows wild or semi cultivation, so the productivity is generally low. To improve productivity, it is necessary to use planting materials derived from high productive trees. The study was aimed to identify nutmeg trees with high yield, good quality of fruit, seeds and essential oils. The study was undertaken in eight locations of Fakfak district. Mother trees selection were carried out during 2013-2015. About 136 mother trees have been selected with average fruit yield 2275 ± 340 fruits tree−1 and have bigger fruit and seed compared with original population. The average fruit weight 106 ± 9.6 g, fruit length 7.26 ± 0.54 cm, seed weight 13.52 ± 1.44 g, seed length 3.81 ± 0.34 cm, and mace weight > 2 g. Essential oil content of mature seeds and mace was considered low (<5%). The main chemical constituents of seeds and mace essential oils were sabinen, limonen and safrol. The safrole content was higher (> 20%) than standard.
Kesenian berhubungan erat dengan nilai estetis yang dituangkan dalam karya seni. Di Sulawesi Selatan, nilai-nilai dalam kesenian dapat dikatakan sebagai kebudayaan yang memuat nilai- nilai kearifan lokal. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan pemberian makna seni melalui aspek keilmuan agar karya seni dapat diteruskan pada generasi yang baru. Kegiatan kesenian dan budaya di Desa Lerang tidak pernah terlaksana, ini disebabkan karena sumber daya manusia kebanyakan sudah bekerja sebagai petani dan pekebun, merantau keluar daerah, dan pandemic COVID-19. Tim KKNT UNM berinisiatif untuk mengadakan pelatihan kesenian dengan beberapa tahapan yaitu: tahap Observasi, Sosialisasi, Pendaftaran Peserta Pelatihan Kesenian, Pelaksanaan, dan Pembentukan Komunitas Seni. Hasil dari pelatihan kesenian ini yaitu: (1) Terjalinnya silaturahmi antara siswa siswi se-DesaLerang, (2) Peserta pelatihan kesenian menampilkan bakatnya di malam ramah tamah KKNT UNM, (3) Terbentuknya komunitas seni di Desa Lerang sebagai wadah dalam mengembangkan bakat siswa siswi se-Desa Lerang dalam bidang kesenian serta sebagai upaya dalam melestarikan kebudayaan daerah. Several species of the genus Myristica are found in Indonesia, one of which is Aceh wild nutmeg (M. Schefferi Warb). This study aims to identify fruit and seed variations and chemical compounds that might be potential for further use. The research was carried out at a hilly area in Lubuk Arang Village, South Aceh in the year 2017. There is a high variation of the 42 trees observed in yield, fruit, seed, and mace weight, meanwhile low variation in flesh thickness. Plant size, leaves, fruits, and seeds are bigger than other types of nutmeg. In general, the fruit shape was round to ovate with greenish when young and brownish-green in ripe fruit. The seed shape was rounded to oval with dark brown color when mature. Mace net covered the seed with an orange color when mature. Flesh fruit, mace, and seeds were not aromatic. The main chemical compound of seed ethanol extract analyzed using GCMS was Otobaine, Heptaleno (1,2-C) Furan 1-3H)-one-3,3-dimethoxy6,7,9,11-tetramethyl-, Palmitic acid, and Austrobailignan-6, while in mace were Dihydrojasmone, Otobaine, Palmitic acid, cis- Vasenic acid, and Austrobailignan. Cluster analysis of 42 trees based on fruit and seed characters, separated into three groups with a similarity of around 50%.
Abstract[Sperm Terminologies in Al-Qur’an and Andrology Perspective] This article discusses sperm in the Qur'an in QS. An-Najm: 46 and al-Mu'minun: 13. Preliminary findings indicate that there is still a need for studies on andrology to encourage the importance of studies on this matter. This study uses a qualitative comparative study method with a literature review approach. The data source is the book " Tafsir Kemenag. Tafsir Salman and Spermatologist Book". Data collection techniques using search methods and data analysis techniques using content analysis. This article explains how the process of creating spermatozoa starts from the sulalah stage (the essence of food) then germ (sperm). The mention of sperm in the Qur'an is found in the QS. As-Sajdah[21]:8, QS. Al-Mu'minun[18]:13 and QS. At-Tariq[30]:6. There is no explicit mention of sperm in the Qur'an. In the Qur'an the mention is still common, namely using the word nuthfah or semen. The process of formation of sperm cells in the male reproductive system occurs in the testes (spermatogenesis). This article is intended to increase knowledge about the scientific verses contained in it. The productivity of cloves in Indonesia is low, probably due to the use of inferior seeds. The success of plant cultivation is determined by many factors, including the use of quality seeds. This study aims to select high-yielding clove trees, which can be recommended as a quality source of seeds. The research was conducted in Anambas Islands Regency, in a population of cloves belonging to a farmer. A highly productive population was selected as the genetic material following the guidelines for selecting the clove population. Furthermore, highly productive mother trees were selected from this population with the criteria of production average 80 kg tree−1. In addition to their production potential, their morphological characters and chemical compound content were also observed. Twenty mother trees with a production potential of more than 100 kg of flowers tree−1 were selected as high yielding trees. The morphological characters of the selected trees do not resemble any of the released varieties. The content of essential oils and main chemical components is following the Indonesian National Standard of clove quality. Twenty highly productive trees can be recommended for further research for use as sources of quality seeds.
