Conclusion: Those who billed Medicare for SBRT/SRS in 2012 were a minority of Radiation Oncologists. They were more likely to be male and work in hospital-based facilities. SBRT/SRS physicians billed and were paid 33% more for radiation oncology services than their non-SBRT/SRS billing counterparts. Further investigation is warranted to assess trends of SBRT/SRS charges and payments over the past several years.
