276ChemInform Abstract The catechol ligands are prepared by condensation of 2,3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde with the corresponding aminoalkylpyridine and react in ethanol with the appropriate copper salts to yield the complexes (I)-(III) (no yields given). The X-ray structure of (I) is determined (space group P1, Z=2). A novel mode of coordination of the ligand is observed. From the magnetic and IR spectroscopic characterization of the complexes it is concluded that (III) probably possesses the same structure as (I). On the other hand, the complexes (II) behave in a manner similar to that of their salicylaldehyde analogues.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
