BACKGROUNDVaginal bleeding in early weeks being one of the frequent occurrence, about 20-25% of all pregnancies and have a lot of attention during the last few decades as a predictor of subsequent foetal outcome. In those pregnancies which continue, there is increased incidence of later problems including preterm labour/delivery, Low Birth Weight (LBW), gestational hypertension/Pregnancy Induced Hypertension (PIH), Intrauterine Foetal Death (IUFD), etc.
