The hypothesis in the conceptual model was that a user-driven innovation in presently available information and communication technology infrastructure would be able to meet patient and health professional users information needs and help them attain better health outcomes. An operational model was created to plan a trial on a sample diabetic population utilizing a randomized control trial design, assigning one randomly selected group of diabetics to receive electronic information intervention and analyse if it would improve their health outcomes in comparison with a matched diabetic population who would only receive regular medical intervention. Diabetes was chosen for this particular trial, as it is a major chronic illness in Malaysia as elsewhere in the world. It is in essence a position paper for how the study concept should be organized to stimulate wider discussion prior to beginning the study.
Regression test selection is a process to select a subset of existing test cases, which are then used with some new test cases for regression testing. Regression testing ensures that the changes made to the system have not affected the existing functionality. To date, there is no adequate technique which can do regression test selection by considering changes in semantics of operations (along with the other syntax and semantics changes) using UML diagrams. Change in semantics of an operation refers to the change in conditional statements, change in independent paths/unique paths, change in control flow and addition or deletion of any content from the existing functionality. In this study, a novel approach is presented which can do this using class, sequence and activity diagrams. The tool compared old and new versions of UML diagrams to categorise test cases into reusable, retestable, obsolete and newly generated category. Activity diagrams are specifically used to test the semantics of operations. The changed operations corresponding to these activity diagrams are also searched in class and sequence diagrams for regression test selection. This study has been validated by comparison with previous study. It is found that the authors' work provides significant increase in accuracy.
Carotid cavernous fistula (CCF) is a specific type of dural arteriovenous (AV) fistula characterized by abnormal AV shunting within the cavernous sinus. The authors present a case of a 17-year-old young male who encountered a road traffic accident while driving a car, with a history of flipping of cars multiple times. The patient was unconscious with symmetrical bilateral (B/L) pupils and with Glasgow coma scale (GCS) score of 3. There was no history of seizures or vomiting.
Agriculture is the mainstay of most of the developing nations of the world. The existence of a sound agriculture system is an indicator of economic prosperity and food security of a country. With the change in world demographics and the adjustments underway in the economic and market equations, agriculture needs to orient itself in such a way that it successfully deals with the forthcoming challenges. This paper studies the state of agriculture and related activities in Nayabaas village, Rohtak, Haryana. It deals with the limitations of farmers to switch over to modern farm technology and highlight the nature of monoculture at the cost of crop diversity. The paper also tries to figure out the effect of the local social situation on the agricultural foothold. At last, the paper recommends some measures which can account for transforming agriculture into a diversified enterprise, in the research area.
Background: Amoebic liver abscess is an important cause of inflammatory space occupying lesion of liver in the tropics. The primary aim of our study is to study the clinical presentations, investigations, diagnosis and management of amoebic liver abscess. Methods: All patients diagnosed with liver abscess in Hi-Tech Medical and hospital, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, over a period of two years from September 2014 to September 2016. After obtaining clearance and approval from the institutional ethical committee, detailed history of all patients is taken with thorough clinical examination; required Investigations were done and entered into a proforma during their stay and follow up. Therapeutic aspiration reserved for the following cases where: Size of abscess is more than 5 cm in diameter (125ml). When pain and fever persist for more than 3 to 5 days after starting Antiamoebic therapy. Four clinical variables-abdominal pain, fever, anorexia, and hepatomegaly-were assessed on daily basis. Finally, The patients were asked to visit for reassessment once a month for 3 months. Results: A total of 30 patients of amoebic liver abscess were included and studied during the time period. Out of 30 patients of liver abscess, 14 patients gave history of alcohol consumption, comprising 47% of the study population. than 5 cms were treated conservatively. In Patients treated by percutaneous aspiration, 12 were having cavities ranging 11-25 cms and 5 with cavities ranging 6-10 cms. 60% of patients were treated by ultrasound guided percutaneous aspiration and 40% of patients were treated by conservative management. Conclusion: Ultrasonography helps in early diagnosis and reducing morbidity and mortality. It also confirms the site, size and number of amoebic liver abscess and knowing the prognosis.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
