<p><strong>Purpose:</strong> The purposes of this study are first, to analyze why the <em>process capability index </em>(<em>Cpk</em>) for drop impact resistance (DIR) does not meet the specification or less than 1.33, and second, to find out what improvements should be made to make it meet the specification.</p><p><strong>Methodology/Approach:</strong> The methodology used was Statistical Process Control (SPC) through the PDCA cycle, supporting with Cause and Effect Diagram (CED), Nominal Group Technique (NGT) and “why, what, where, when and how (5W1H)” method.</p><p><strong>Findings:</strong> With the above methods, the result of the study was given a positive impact on the company. The average of DIR was increased from 20.40 cm to 25.76 cm, increased by 26.27% and the standard deviation was reduced from 1.80 to 1.48, and then the<em> Cpk</em> index was increased from 0.48 to 1.79 it means the process is in control and capable.</p><p><strong>Research Limitation/implication:</strong> This research was limited only on the two-piece can aluminum cans manufacturing process, no for three-piece cans manufacturing. SPC through PDCA cycle is an interesting method for continuous improvement of process capability in the cans manufacturing industry.</p><strong>Originality/Value of paper:</strong> This study highlights the area of future research SPC through the PDCA cycle to analyze and optimize process capability. Therefore, this research is considered to promote and adopt high-valued methodologies for supporting industry to achieve global competitive advantages.
The aim of this experiment was to increasing production and iron content of the brown rice, through the biofortification program in paddy fields gripped the iron. The experiment was conducted in the Sub-District of Koto Baru, Dharmasraya, from March to July 2015. The purpose of the experiment is to produce, grain brown rice super high levels of iron, and increased production of brown rice. Methods of bio-fortification with iron in biofortification method in the fields of ferro gripped, by utilizing the technology package can increase production paddy cultivation reached 5.1 Mg ha -1 with the iron levels of 25.6 mg kg -1 Inpari 24.Brown rice tolerant varieties (Inpari 24) + Ameliorant cow manure 10 Mg ha -1 + System of square utama [(7.5 × 7.5 cm) × 25 cm × (7.5 × 7.5 cm)] + One seedling per planting point, age 10 day + plant growth regulators, auxin 5ml liter -1 can be used to achieve the growth and production of the best for brown rice varieties cultivation on paddy fields gripped Fe, especially in Koto Baru, District of Dharmasraya.
In line with the unstable market conditions in Indonesia, especially the plastic manufacturing industry, the companies need to be well prepared to survive. There were two research goals. First, it was to find out why the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) rate at the company did not meet the expected standard. Second, it was to determine what improvement should be made to increase the OEE for the machine. The research applied a case study in one of the plastic manufacturing industries located in Tangerang, Indonesia. It focused on the performance of Toshiba injection molding machine number 42/IS 450 GSW. The analysis was performed by applying Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) with support from other tools such as Pareto chart, Cause and Effect Diagram (CED), and six big losses. By following the whole framework of the research, it finds causes of why the OEE does not meet the target. Then, from the results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the methods has a positive impact on the company. The OEE rate increases from an average of 26,43% to 78,87%. It means the OEE rate has achieved the company target of 75%.
Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendapatkan interaksi terbaik konsentrasi dan interval pemberian POC daun lamtoro bagi pertumbuhan dan produksi jagung manis. Percobaan telah dilakukan di lahan kering ultisol Kelurahan Ampang, Kecamatan Kuranji, Kota Padang, dengan ketinggian tempat ±10 mdpl yang berlangsung pada bulan Oktober 2020 sampai Februari 2021. Rancangan perlakuan terdiri dari 2 faktor. Faktor pertama kosentrasi POC daun lamtoro dengan 4 taraf, yaitu 0, 50, 100, dan 150 ml/L. Faktor kedua adalah interval waktu pemberian POC daun lamtoro dengan 3 taraf, yaitu 1x5 hari, 1x10 hari, dan 1x15 hari. Perlakuan ditempatkan pada RAK dengan 3 ulangan, sedangkan data dianalisis dengan sidik ragam dan uji DNMRT pada taraf 5% dan 1%. Hasil percobaan diperoleh interaksi konsentrasi dan interval waktu pemberian POC daun lamtoro tidak berpengaruh pada pertumbuhan dan produksi jagung manis kecuali pada parameter ILD. Faktor interval waktu pemberian POC daun lamtoro tidak berpengaruh terhadap semua komponen pertumbuhan dan hasil jagung manis, sedangkan faktor konsentrasi POC daun lamtoro berpengaruh nyata pada semua para meter pertumbuhan dan hasil jagung manis. Secara umum pemberian POC daun lamtoro dapat meningkatkan komponen pertumbuhan dan hasil jagung manis, Produksi pipilan segar tertinggi diperoleh pada kosentrasi POC daun lamtoro 150 ml/L yaitu 5.39 t/ha.
