The phenomena of critical concentration of boric acid and the oxidation reaction kinetics were studied on the formation of sec-dodecanol by the direct air oxidation of n-dodecane in the presence of boric acid. The critical concentration of boric acid in the oxidation reaction is found to be inversely proportional to an adsorption constant, , and found to increase with the reaction temperature. The activation energy of adsorption of the peroxy radical on the boric acid surface during oxidation is measured to be 19.87 kcal/mol. The oxidation reaction shows a first-order dependence with respect to n-dodecane concentration in the steady-state activity regime. The experimental results are in good agreement with the predicted values from the proposed reaction kinetic model.
-The flexural behavior of composite ring stiffened by GFRP and steel pipe is presented in this paper. The effective width is required to construct FEM beam element model to verify the composite flexural behavior of stiffened ring of cylindrical shell structure. The experimental results are compared with the theoretical and FEM results by commercial program ABAQUS to verify the effective width coefficient. The yield, crack and ultimate loads is calculated using theoretical strains that varies depending on yield state and compared with experiment result and FEM results by ABAQUS solid model.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
