We proposed a novel lighting system with optical lens of the car head-up display (HUD) and the camera CCD estimation method of the projection virtual image. This novel optical lens lighting system shows up to 0.8 million nits BLU brightness with 3M DBEF4, 15° full viewing angle and better uniformity. Besides, we set up a new measurement method to estimate projection virtual image performance and the tolerance with human factor test is within 4 %. Finally, we have demonstrated AUO HUD combined with the optical lens lighting system and displayed average 4.5 X projection image during 1418 mm distance from the driver. And the virtual image brightness within 50 * 130 mm 2 eye-box is average 8900 nits.
A new type curved liquid crystal display has been presented. A direct-type backlight module is used for curved display. Curved display has different emitting angles from the center to the edge. It was found the brightness increase as the view angle increases at low grayscale. It causes the color shift and poor uniformity. This paper discusses different grayscale view cone measurement result of 21.5" curved display. According to the measurement result, it can be improved by partition gamma correction.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
