This study aims to determine the lexical and grammatical cohesion of abstracts of STKIP PGRI Lubuklinggau students. The method used is a qualitative case study. The results showed that students made ungrammatical sentences, wrong prepositions, spelling errors, and improper cohesive devices. In conclusion, lexical and grammatical cohesion is used in the abstract. The repetition of words in lexical cohesion keeps the reader on track, while grammatical cohesion is used to describe available references, conjunctions, substitutions to make a good abstract. Listening is one of fundamental skills in English. Unfortunately, most students are not able to achieve listening skill well. There are many factors that influence students? listening skill is low. This research tried to solve the problem regarding the students' difficulities in achieving listening skills by using drama movies reviewing technique this study is a quasi experimental design. The object of this paper were 30 students' of students of general conversation Classes. The data were collected by using listening achievement test. The results showed that the students who were treated by the techniques of viewing drama movies achieved higher mean score in listening skill (81.46). The techniques of viewing drama movies also gave contribution in listening skill (61.8%). Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah tentang kemampuan Pemilu untuk melahirkan legislator daerah yang mampu mewakili konstituennya dengan baik, ditengah maraknya ‘politik uang’ pada Pemilu serentak tahun 2019. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah Mengetahui efektivitas Pemilu legislatif daerah di Kabupaten Musi Rawas, Kota Lubuklinggau, dan Kabupaten Musi Rawas Utara, dan Mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemilih (konstituen) dalam Pemilu legislatif daerah tersebut.Pada penelitian ini, peneliti akan melakukan penelitian dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, dengan berlandaskan pada teknik pengumpulan data secara observasi, wawancara mendalam, serta dokumentasi faktual dan akademis. Dalam pengolahan data akan dilakukan uji triangulasi data sehingga data memiliki validitas yang tinggi, dan kemudian dilakukan analisis secara teliti dan kritis, sehingga menghasilkan suatu simpulan yang obyektif.Adapun hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas pelaksanaan Pemilu legislatif daerah pada Pemilu serentak tahun 2019 telah efektif secara normatif namun belum tercapai secara kualitasnya; dikarenakan masih diwarnai oleh ‘politik uang’ dan kecurangan di tingkat KPPS, PPS, PTPS, dan Pengawas lapangan. Hal ini berdampak pada legitimasi para Caleg terpilih menjadi semu atau lemah, serta rendahnya kapasitas, kapabilitas, dan kualitas para Caleg terpilih dikarenakan tidak adanya seleksi secara akademis dan terukur.
