Adolescent pregnancy and parenting are major societal problems. The authors describe a peer-counseling model aimed at preventing repeat pregnancy and school drop-out among adolescent mothers. Well-functioning teen mothers were paid to be peer counselors to younger pregnant teens. Repeat pregnancy, school, and employment status were evaluated after the intervention, suggesting the program's positive impact.
