Women face great challenges to enter to information technologies and assume leadership roles. Facing with this reality, Powerful Girls community emerges in Latin America. Their ambassadors in Ecuador tell how this experience incubated since 2017 is progressing because more women are studying journalism, but that index is not reflected in newsrooms where men duplicate their presence in front of women. This community encourages collaborative work over the individual, and promotes horizontal learning and ties among its members.
Las mujeres enfrentan grandes desafíos para ingresar a las tecnologías de la información y asumir roles de liderazgo. Ante esta realidad, surge la comunidad Chicas Poderosas en América Latina. Sus embajadoras en Ecuador cuentan cómo avanza esta experiencia incubada desde 2017 porque cada vez más mujeres estudian periodismo, pero ese índice no se refleja las salas de redacción en donde los hombres duplican su presencia frente a las mujeres. Esta comunidad fomenta el trabajo colaborativo por sobre el individual, y fomenta el aprendizaje horizontal y los lazos entre sus miembros.
