Abstract:The Education Library at Wayne State University has a long and storied history. From its beginning at the Detroit Normal School to its final merger with the general library, the Education Library has been at the heart of not only Wayne State University, but also in the development of the College of Education. This paper chronicles the history of the library, and the people who created it, from its very beginning to its final place among the volumes of Purdy/Kresge Library.
One of the gems of the Baldwin Library of Historical Children's Literature is its large collection of old movable books and toys created to delight thousands of people, young and old alike.
Student internships in the Baldwin Library have varied in format and research topic. Undergraduate student internships focus more on the inner workings of special collections librarianship and exhibition creation, while graduate student internships have ranged from course development to new digitization practices. This article profiles two student internships in the Baldwin Library.
