Learning Analytics is a new field of research that appears as a link between educator data and students. The Learning Analytics is also able to provide information about decision making to understand and optimise the learning process. Early childhood education is believed to be very important because the learner is open and always tries new things and is considered very meaningful for future processes in the development of all aspects of their personality. In this study, we aimed at investigating the application of learning analytics and how the learning process on child development in early childhood education. The Article Search Process is carried out on two databases, ScienceDirect and IEEE. In this study, the most important keywords are Learning Analytics and early childhood. The results of the search are 45 articles: (31/45) ScienceDirect and (14/45) IEEE, from 2012 to 2017. They are thoroughly explored in the Learning Analytics process, data collection and pre-processing, analysis and action, and post-processing. The process of data collection is done by implementing Online Systems or Game-Based Learning: 58% e-Learning systems, 27% Learning Analytics systems, and 15% Game-based learning. Many research was conducted on samples from Post graduate, High school and Elementary school. The results showed that early childhood education had the advantage of the use of the new technology and in enchancing the child's knowledge and skills. Such as creativity and logical intelligence in the introduction of shapes and numbers. In the further study, the concept of Learning Analytics in the form of assessment and feedback that is given to support the improvement of the objectivity in the learning process by collaborating with educational games which can be another beneficial to the early childhood education. Objective assessment and feedback may be the monitor and prediction which will also be analised for the efficiency and effectiveness in the learning proces through the use of the technology.
a b s t r a c tThe tendency of particles to aggregate depends on particle-particle and particle-fluid interactions. These interactions can be characterized but it requires accurate 3D measurements of particle distributions. We introduce the application of an off-axis digital holographic microscopy for measuring distributions of dense micrometer (2 μm) particles in a liquid solution. We demonstrate that digital holographic microscopy is capable of recording the instantaneous 3D position of particles in a flow volume. A new reconstruction method that aids identification of particle images was used in this work. About 62% of the expected number of particles within the interrogated flow volume was detected. Based on the 3D position of individual particles, the tendency of particle to aggregate is investigated. Results show that relatively few particles (around 5-10 of a cohort of 1500) were aggregates. This number did not change significantly with time.

Early childhood is a significant period when transitions take place in children. This period is a hot topic among researchers who pursue this domain across different scientific disciplines. Many studies addressed social, scientific, medical, and technical topics during early childhood. Researchers also utilized different analysis measures to conduct experiments on the different types of data related to the early childhood to produce research articles. This paper aims to review and analyze the literature related to early childhood in addition to the data analyses and the types of data used. The factors that were considered to boost the understanding of contextual aspects in the published studies related to early childhood were considered as open challenges, motivations, and recommendations of researchers who aimed to advance the study in this area of science. We systematically searched articles on topics related to early childhood, the data analysis approaches used, and the types of data applied. The search was conducted on five major databases, namely, ScienceDirect, Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, and PubMed from 2013 to September 2017. These indices were considered sufficiently extensive and reliable to cover our field of the literature. Articles were selected on the basis of our inclusion and exclusion criteria (n = 233). The first portion of studies (n = 103/233) focused on the different aspects related to the development of children in early age. They discussed different topics, such as the body growth development of children, psychology, skills, and other related topics that overlap between two or more of the previous topics or do not fall into any of the categories but are still under development. The second portion of studies (n = 107/233) focused on different aspects associated with health in early childhood. A number of topics were discussed in this regard, such as those related to family health, medical procedures, interventions, and risk that address the health-related aspects, in addition to other related topics that overlap between two or more of the previous topics or do not fall into any of the categories but are still under health. The remaining studies (n = 23/233) were categorized to the other main category because they overlap between the previous two major categories, namely, development and health, or they do not fall into any of the previous main categories. Early childhood is a sensitive period in every child's life. This period was studied using different means of data analysis and with the aid of different data types to produce different findings from the previous studies. Research areas on early childhood vary, but they are equally significant. This paper emphasizes the current standpoint and opportunities for research in this area and boosts additional efforts toward the understanding of this research field.
