The study provides theoretical and applied issues related to the establishment of interdisciplinary relations between different disciplines. An algorithm for geometric modeling of ruled surfaces is presented. Its distinctive feature is the fact that in geometric modeling the model is always a geometric figure. New geometric configurations have been obtained, due to the mutual introduction of the foundations of technology and geometry. As a result of the study, it was found that the interdisciplinary connections of geometry and technology make it possible to obtain new geometric configurations, on the basis of which it is possible to achieve new results in aviation technology and in other industries.
This is a conceptual approach to knowledge acquisition at technical universities. The emphasis is on the consistent possession of knowledge: the acquisition of new and preservation of the existing ones. At the same time, the grapho-geometric component in technical education is one of the most important elements of fundamental (general engineering) education. It is carried out at the initial stage in the process of studying technical disciplines included in the relevant curricula. Applied geometry plays an important role in this process, and it includes such directions as descriptive geometry, analytic geometry, engineering graphics, and computer graphics that provide spatial interpretation of geometric objects and display them on a plane. This combination of subjects studied significantly enriches the geometric development within student's intellectual world.
The article discusses development of a system of transport and interchange hubs (TIH). The need to create TIHs is due to an opportunity to increase efficiency of passenger flows in the urban public transport system, to reduce travel time for passengers, to ensure comfortable and safe conditions for transfer, and to improve quality of service to the population. The objective of the research is to develop methods that allow solving the problem of optimal selection of TIH locations in any city according to the economic criterion and the criterion of the average travel time using the methods of mathematical modelling. The technique comprises search for optimal travel routes in the city and identification of effective interchange hubs using the developed software product called «Efficient transfers». Efficient transfer hubs with maximum passenger traffic are candidates for TIH locations. The work describes calculations made according the proposed methods and optimal options for location of this in the city of Samara considering limited funds, reduction in travel time and in the number of passengers using these TIHs. The research also resulted in obtaining the dependence of reduction in the average time of an urban trip on the number of TIHs.
The paper proposes a quantitative method for determining the optimal location of transport interchange hubs (TH), based on identification of effective transfer hubs, which allows predicting the location of the TH system with sufficient accuracy according to the criterion of reducing the average duration of trips around the city. The method is based on the heuristic algorithm that allows you to determine the optimal direct and transfer routes (with one, two or more transfers) and identify effective transfer nodes. In such nodes, the TH should be created. The method was tested on the example of the Samara city public transport system. The TH system is proposed, which allows to reduce the average travel time on the urban transport network by reducing the time of transfer trips. Regardless of the size of passenger traffic, the maximum reduction in the average duration of a trip in Samara due to the creation of a TH system is six minutes. The fluctuation of passenger traffic and its influence on the choice of TH is investigated. The dependence of the number of TH, the construction of which makes it possible to achieve marginal reduction in the average duration of a trip around the city due to the formation of TH system on passenger traffic is obtained.
