Community service is an activity that is one of the pillars of upholding the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. By carrying out this activity, the higher education institution directly dedicates itself to providing solutions for the community. Community service is carried out with the Assistance program with cases adapted to the field conditions of each IKM. The service location is a group of food industries located around the village of Godean District, Sleman Regency. Based on the group's suggestions and directions, PKK groups with various conditions and production capabilities were selected as special targets in the hope that these groups could become agents of change for other groups. The results of community assistance activities are, low awareness of the importance of work safety, absence of systematic production planning, production processes that still use traditional tools, unhygienic and un ergonomic workplaces, non-optimal production floor area, low equipment utilization. , Low productivity Key words: IKM, food industry, productivity.
Information distortion tends to inflate from downstream to upstream, and results in demand planning errors and this is followed by inaccurate forecasting. This situation is referred to as the bullwhip effect phenomenon. Demand management is also determined based on either a centralized or decentralized distribution strategy. Both strategies will influence the accuracy of demand planning and its effect on the bullwhip phenomenon. Unfortunately, research investigating the relationship between centralization and decentralization strategies for demand and the bullwhip effect is still limited. To answer this shortcoming, this paper has two scenarios for its analysis. First, forecasting is done to determine the accuracy of demand planning, indicated by the smallest forecast error value. Based on the results of the analysis, it is known that single exponential smoothing with alpha 0.5 is the best forecasting method. The second step is to measure the bullwhip effect; the results show that the coefficient is less than one. This coefficient indicated that the company underperformed in the fulfillment of its customers’ needs. Theoretically, this paper extends the literature on demand management in the supply chain by considering centralized and decentralized strategies.
Human factors are very important factors in small and medium industries, in determining the productivity of a production system. However, work safety and comfort are often overlooked, as happened in two different companies, namely food companies and manufacturing companies. Both are influenced by the conditions of the company's work facilities that are less ergonomic, so that they can endanger the body of the worker. A similar thing also happened to Manufacturing companies. This study aims to analyze and make a proposal for a more ergonomic work facility design using the Ergonimi pastoral approach. From the results of the improvement it was found that the risk level of Cumulative Trauma Disorders (CTD) was reduced from high to low and from high to moderate. While productivity of work time increases by 10-20%.
