Structure evolution and morphology of La0.7Sr0.3Co0.8Fe0.2O3-δ (LSCF 7328) were investigated during two different preparation methods namely mechanochemical and combination of mechanochemical-solid state. The result shows that no characteristic peak of perovskite oxide was found on the diffractogram of the product of sole mechanochemical method at 600 rpm and up to 12 h of high energy milling process. On the other hand, the manual grinding method that was followed by solid state calcination produces irregular particle size. Due to the result, the combination of both methods was proposed to obtain the fine structure formation and particle size distribution. Rietveld refinement was used to investigate the lattice distortion. It was found that unit cell remains unchanged at increasing milling time. Moreover, the combination method produces regular particle size at milling time of 0.5 h. At longer milling time, the more regular particle size is formed which comes from highly energy transfer of milling.
A B S T R A C TPurpose: The study aims to isolate the culturable marine bacteria and to assess their potential as the bioremediation agent for petroleum hydrocarbons contamination in marine environment. Methods: Bacteria isolates were obtained by repetitive streaks to obtain purified bacteria on Zobell marine agar plates before further analysis and culture through direct visualization on agar plates. Identification were conducted using 16S rDNA sequence which are compared using NCBI BLAST and, combined with phenotypic and phylogenetic data. The potential use of the selected bacteria was tested by culturing them with two carbon sources i.e., glucose and crude oil.Result: Fifty-one culturable marine hydrocarbonoclastic bacteria were isolated from the Lombok Strait (LS-3, LS-13, LS-14, LS-15, and Indian Ocean (IO-1, IO-6, IO-8, IO-19, IO-24 and IO-25). Twelve isolates were found to degrade crude oil efficiently at a >2% concentration and to grow with crude oil as their sole carbon and energy source. These 12 strains belong to the genus Bacillus, which is well known to produce surface active agents, and the oil displacement assay indicated the production of these agents by these strains. Within the genera Bacillus, five species (Bacillus flexus, B. methylotrophicus, B. aquimaris, B. horikoshii, and B. thioparans) were represented by the 12 identified strains. Conclusion: Selected strains from the Lombok Strait and Indian Ocean were capable of degrading crude oil (2% v/ v) by 43.9-71.9% over 14 days. These results are important for marine bioremediation in Indonesia, which often faces risks of oil spill contamination and disaster.

Bukan hanya untuk virus Covid-19, sistem kekebalan tubuh yang meningkat juga mampu melindungi tubuh dari ancaman berbagai penyakit lainnya. Mengkonsumsi minuman herbal merupakan salah satu cara untuk memperkuat dan meningkatkan sistem kekebalan dan daya tahan tubuh. Bahan-bahan minuman herbal seperti: jahe merah, kunyit, jahe emprit dan temulawak telah terbukti mempunyai kemampuan untuk memperkuat dan meningkatkan sistem daya tahan tubuh. Bahan-bahan herbal tersebut sangat mudah diperoleh sebagai bagian dari bumbu dapur dan dapat ditanam serta dibudidayakan dengan sangat mudah di pekarangan rumah. Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini dilakukan di Kelurahan Keputih Surabaya sebagai upaya untuk menghambat pertumbuhan dan mengatasi laju penyebaran virus berbahaya sekaligus meningkatkan kemampuan sumber daya manusia dan membangkitkan usaha-usaha kalangan rumah tangga. Teknologi pencegahan penyebaran virus yang dimaksud adalah dengan penularan ilmu, bimbingan teknologi dan terus menerus melakukan monitoring serta pendampingan dalam pembuatan minuman herbal serbuk siap seduh. Kegiataan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini dilakukan kepada seluruh masyarakat yang mempunyai kepedulian terhadap kesehatan: ibu-ibu penggerak PKK dan dasawisma, remaja karang taruna dan bahkan bapak-bapak yang siaga terhadap kesehatan. Mereka diberikan pemahaman arti penting menjaga kesehatan serta upaya meningkatkan imunitas tubuh di saat pandemi seperti saat ini. Selain itu, masyarakat Kelurahan Keputih juga dibina cara membuat minuman herbal serbuk siap seduh, menyimpan dengan baik serta higienis dan diupayakan untuk produksi dalam skala yang lebih luas. Sehingga peningkatan imunitas kesehatan tercapai dan peningkatan penghasilan juga akan diperoleh.
