Time Series With Control Group Design. Responden sebanyak 36 dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok, masing-masing kelompok 18 responden.
Background: Depression in colon rectal cancer patients can inhibit the healing process, increasing the morbidity and mortality. Purpose of the study: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of guided imagery on the level of depression and cortisol. Guided imagery is a relaxation and comfort therapy that can provide a calm effect. Guided imagery is performed by guiding the patient in imagining a beautiful and comfortable place. Research Method: This study uses experimental design. The study sample consist of 52 patients with colon rectal cancer who undergo the treatment. Depression levels and examination of cortisol levels are carried out before and after the intervention. Guided imagery is given to 26 people in the intervention group, and 26 people in the control group for the standard care. Data analysis using independent t-test and dependent t-test if the data is normally distributed. Results: The use of Guided Imagery therapy can reduce the average level of depression in CRC patients but does not show changes in cortisol levels in patient's body.
Introduction: PIVCs (Peripheral Intravenous Catheters) have been widely used for clinical medical care which is having risk for phlebitis occurence. IV catheter replacement is performed when there is clinical indication such us phlebitis. The consequence of this action is patient convinence, nurse workload and patient care cost efficiency. Methode: A longitudinal study with experimental results of evidence based practice on replacement of PIVSc with clinical indication as an effort to improve patient convinience, cost efficiency and reduce nurse workload in 41 patients. Result: 41 patients attached PIVCs, 100% wanted IV catheter replacement if there was any clinical indication. 68% of patients said very uncomfortable if IV catheter routinely replaced. 16 nurse (56.25%) said there is no need to replace IV catheter regularly. 43.75% of nurses felt IV catheters rountine replacement increased the working time and 50% of the nurses felt that nurses workload was increased. Conclusions: IV catheter replacement can be performed if there is cinical indication because it can improve patient convenience, increase cost efficiency and reduce nurse workload.
As an archipelago country, Indonesia has almost 70% of its territory consisting of the sea, and most of the population has a livelihood as fishermen. Traditional fishermen generally are at risk of experiencing barotrauma and decompression due to the low of knowledge and lack of dive facilities. This activity aims to improve fisherman divers’ knowledge on barotrauma dna decompression management. Educational methods applied such as teaching, roleplay and discussion. There are 50 traditional fishermen who voluntarily participated, 43 participants (86.0%) have good knowledge about barotrauma and decompression prevention and management, 20 participants (40%) can demonstrate Basic Life Support by guidance, and 12 participants (24%) were able to demonstrate independently. It is hoped that from this activity the fisherman divers community more familiar and understand about barotrauma and decompression as risks from traditionally diving activities.
