Lanjut Usia adalah seseorang yang berusia > 60 tahun, baik pria maupun wanita, yang masih aktif beraktivitas dan bekerja ataupun mereka yang tidak berdaya untuk mencari nafkah sendiri sehingga bergantung kepada orang lain untuk menghidupi dirinya.
Pada saat seseorang telah memasuki usia lanjut terjadinya penurunan daya tubuh hingga tingkat tertentu yang dapat mengakibatkan seseorang mengalami masalah kesehatan. Salah satu penyakit yang sering menyerang para lanjut usia adalah Hipertensi. Hipertensi adalah suatu penyakit yang diakibatkan oleh peningkatan tekanan darah. Hipertensi bisa muncul tanpa gejala, sementara tekanan darah yang terjadi terus-menerus terjadi dalam jangka waktu yang lama dapat mengakibatkan komplikasi.
Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana karakteristik hipertensi lanjut usia di Desa Banua Baru.
Jenis penelitian yang digunakan merupakan metode survei dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Penelitian dilakukan mulai bulan November 2019 hingga bulan Desember 2019. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar kuesioner yang meliputi pertanyaan tentang usia, jenis kelamin, pekerjaan, pendidikan pada Lanjut Usia di Desa Banua Baru. Adapun populasi lanjut usia di Desa Banua Baru yaitu sebanyak 99 lansia dan sampel yang diambil sebanyak 24 orang lansia.
Hasil penelitian berdasarkan karakteristik responden yaitu mayoritas lansia terbanyak yang hipertensi yaitu dengan umur 60-74 (70,8%), jenis kelamin perempuan (75%), pekerjaan IRT (75%). Adapun total lansia yang hipertensi di Desa Banua Baru yaitu sebanyak 24 orang.
Aim:The study was aimed to prepare and examine the potential and safety concerns of egg drop syndrome (EDS) vaccine candidate seed. The potential and safety trials of EDS Medan isolate vaccine need to be done before commercial scale of EDS vaccines are made.Materials and Methods:The safety test of EDS candidate vaccine was tested on 4-week-old specified pathogen-free chickens in an experimentally isolated enclosure.Results:The result of the safety test obtained 27.3 hemagglutination inhibition (HI) unit of geometric mean titer antibody post-vaccination. However, the potency test of the EDS candidate vaccine was conducted on 17-week-old laying hens. Test results of the EDS potency vaccine in layer obtained antibody titer increased in every week of blood taking with average titer of antibody: Before vaccinated was 22.9 HI unit, 1 week after vaccination was 23.7 HI unit, 2 weeks post-vaccination was 25 HI unit, and 3 weeks after vaccination was 27.3 HI units. In contrast, decreasing trend was observed in control group (unvaccinated chicken).Conclusion:Serologically, the seed vaccine of EDS virus isolates from Medan was able to produce protective antibody titers starting in the 2nd and 3rd weeks post-vaccination.
The purpose of this research is to study the properties of geopolymer paste based on metakaolin and rice husk ash (RHA) as coating material. Geopolymer paste was produced through alkaline activation method added with rice husk ash as much as 15% relative to the mass of metakaolin. The coating was achieved by painting the substrates with geopolymer paste. The coated material were cured at 60 °C for 3 hours. Samples were left at room temperature until seven days before any testing was conducted. The chemical resistance of the sample was studied by immersing the samples into (H2SO4) 1% for three days and it was found that the coated material was still in good condition. The presence of RHA was found to improve the thermal properties of geopolymer paste. The results showed that geoplymer paste was an excellent coating material for chemical and fire protection.
