SUMMARY
Our experience has been that the measurement of whole–body potassium has revealed a deficiency in the majority of patients with uretero–colic anastomoses. This deficiency is not reflected by the plasma concentration of potassium. No similar effect was observed among a group of patients with ileal conduits.
Background: Cosmetic rhinoplasty has great potential to change one's appearance. It also carries a very real risk for dissatisfaction and revision. While there have been many patient series published studying various aspects of rhinoplasty over the years, questions remain regarding rates of revision, as well as risk factors for complications, dissatisfaction, and revision surgery.
Methods:We reviewed the charts of 384 consecutive cosmetic rhinoplasties performed by a single practice of plastic surgeons over a 10 year period. Full pre-operative and post-operative data were collected. Operative reports were reviewed for details including approach, anesthesia, grafts, sutures, skeletal and cartilage reshaping, and any soft tissue modification. All possible associations were analyzed for statistical significance.
