subsequent cultures growing Actinomyces and Streptococcus Oralis. Histology results of a second patient following laparscopic excision of a suspected haemorrhagic cyst within segements II & IV revealed a ciliated foregut cyst. A third patient required conversion to a right trisectionectomy after frozen section analysis during a laparoscopic de-roofing procedure revealed a mucinous cystic lesion. Eventual histology results were of a hepatic cystadenocarcinoma and she later developed recurrent disease within her ovaries (Krukenberg's tumour). Conclusions: The above cases highlight the importance of detailed radiological and multidisciplinary assessment of all liver cysts. They also provide a cautionary reminder that a variety of more complex pathologies can masquerade as seemingly innocuous cysts.
