This paper is written on a problem that is to coordinate something according to their impressions. Firstly, the authors define and bring up KANSEI coordination problem, especially color harmonization and arrangement for color combinations, and after that, the authors formulate this problem. Some methods and solutions for these kinds of problem can be specified by this problem formulation. The authors simplify the practical complicated problem that is to arrange and coordinate colors for interior coordinates. This simplification enables our problem formulation and finally the problem resolves itself into the optimization of an evaluation function under some constraint formulas. Therefore, it is expected that many kinds of constraint satisfaction methods can be used. The authors also point out that the evaluation function can be considered as a KANSEI model, which can represent the relationship between subjectivity (the degrees of color harmony) and coloring styles.
An advanced training machine is proposed for elderly people to maintain their lower limb strength. The training machine allows users to have a safe and effective training through exercise during standing up motion. The standing up ability by using own legs is the most important for elderly people to keep the level of their quality of life because they would be confined to bed if they lose the standing up ability. The training machine automatically adjusts loading level based on user's muscle activity to provide effective and safe training. The detail of control system, mechanical design and sensing device to monitor user's muscle activity is described. Several experiments have been conducted to evaluate the proposed training system.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
