The maternal and infant mortality in Pakistan is still high. The use of safe and important methods of contraception allows men and women to decide the number and spacing of their pregnancies and to improve the uptake and continuation of use of family planning services through improving the quality of family planning services. objectives of this study is to assess the quality of family planning services, asses information provided by providers to clients, asses client knowledge and satisfaction with services provided preferred choice and current method of contraception used by client. A cross sectional study was conducted from May to July 2014 in Family Planning Department of PIMS hospital, Islamabad by using consecutive sampling technique for data collection. Data was analyzed by using SPSS version 16. The information about each element of quality of care is present as a list of 25 indicators of quality of care each indicator specifies a percentage, mean or SD. Among 100 clients with 0.05 margin of error and 95% Confidence level (Zα/2). Majority of the clients were satisfied with the services of the facility. (40.27%) of the clients would like to have next child after >5 years while the mean age of the youngest child was 11.77 months with Standard deviation SD of 9.850. Majority of the clients (57%) choose Intra Uterine Contraceptive Device (IUCD) after consultation and 62.50% want to change their method. Nonavailability of IEC material on FP was another problem. Rate of discontinuation is higher among women who have not been adequately counseled about side effects. It is concluded from this research study that the information provided to the clients were inadequate, this might be due to provider's improper training and poor interpersonal communication and technical skills.
Background: An Uncontrolled Novel COVID-19 started from Wuhan city of China in Late 2019 and spread worldwide has called for unprecedented measures, to prevent it Pakistan government Imposed lockdown on the entire country. Lockdown has a huge impact and affected on mental health of population. The present study aims to assess the effect of COVID-19 on mental health of population and identify the coping strategies to overcome this mental health issues caused by pandemic. Methods: An online survey was administered from 26 May-14 June 2020 to 398 participants. Post Hoc test was performed to examine the associations between general health questionnaire GHQ-12 and socio-economic variables. Results: Losing jobs due to pandemic and lockdown situation and using negative coping strategies were the factors associated with psychological disorders.This study shows high rates of anxiety and stress in younger population specifically in young women with higher odds of endorsing a worst mental health outcome. Outcomes were associated with a number of COVID-19 related risk factors such as challenging family relations, loss of job, no physical activity, financial burden, experiencing stress full events and suicidal ideation. Conclusion: The present situation requires awareness in public media which could be helpful to deal with this and this present article provides details of COVID-19 pandemic situation on mental health of younger population.
Silver(I) complexes of thioureas and thiocyanate, [(Tu)AgSCN], [(Metu)AgSCN], [(Dmtu)AgSCN], [(Tmtu)(AgSCN) 1.5 ], [(Imt)AgSCN], and [(Diaz)AgSCN] (where Tu = thiourea, Metu = N-methylthiourea, Dmtu = N,N′-dimethylthiourea, Tmtu = N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylthiourea, Imt = 1,3-imidazolidine-2-thione, and Diaz = 1,3-diazinane-2-thione), have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR spectroscopy, and thermal analysis. The crystal structure of one of them, [(Diaz)Ag(SCN)](1), was determined by X-ray crystallography. The crystal structure of 1 shows that the complex exists in the form of a chain-like polymer comprising [Ag(μ 2 -Diaz)(μ 2 -SCN)] units. The silver atoms are bridged by μ 2 -thione sulfur atoms of Diaz and μ 2 -thiocyanate sulfur atoms. Thereby each silver atom adopts a distorted tetrahedral coordination environment comprising four sulfur atoms, two from thione and two from thiocyanate ligands. An upfield shift in the > C = S resonance of thiones in 13 C NMR and a downfield shift in the N-H resonance in 1 H NMR are consistent with the sulfur coordination to silver(I). The appearance of a band around 2100 cm -1 in the IR and a resonance around 125 ppm in the 13 C NMR spectrum indicates the binding of thiocyanate to silver(I).
